I'm from Fort Myers, FL - Looking into taking the family to Daytona this year for our yearly SX trip. (Since we've moved from Illinois to Florida, we've done Nashville, Atlanta Speedway, Dallas, and last year was Tampa. All great experiences. I've always wanted to go to Daytona at least one time. My daughters are 17 and 19, love SX and we don't really need to worry much about it being "family friendly" lol.
I'm looking for some some tips on what seats to buy, or how the general admission has worked for you in the past. Right now there are some reserved seats available in the 300s that look pretty decent.
Last thing, are you able to walk the pits at Daytona like the fanfest at other stadiums? I'm not seeing a lot of detail online. Mainly just looking for suggestions and other's experiences.
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Happy A1 Eve - Go Chase!
If money is no option, some nice high seats in the middle of the grandstand are the best overall viewing experience. Just watch to make sure you don't get stuck right behind the flagstand where you can't see the start straight or something goofy. Add a trackside pass to that so you can go stand down on the track to watch as long as your ankles can take it (banking is serious, and it gets absolutely packed down there).
Pits are open all throughout practice until the night show starts like the other supercross events. Overall it's a great event if you're there for the whole day, lots to walk around and see. Not as easy to see the whole track during racing as it would be in an arena, but it's a good time.
Ive enjoyed general admission. If you get in early, you can head trackside and pay another 20 to get trackside access. While the stands are pretty decent from anywhere, there's something about being 30' from the track as they come by. Then at the end of the race they have been letting people jump the fence n be on the track after the 450 main.
I went to Daytona for the 22 Supercross race. Had a great time. Viewing was really good anywhere in the stadium. Concession lines inside were long as not everything was open. Pit access was great, and it was cool to see the bikes in the car garages. The only negative, and this will stop me going back was the traffic getting out of there. We sat in a parking lot for more than an hour after the race trying to get out. I don’t live near there, and I was probably in the worst lot at the place, but that was the worst parking lot exit experience I have ever had. It was an awesome time overall though. Hope you have fun.
