I'd go with it's some poor schmuck's girlfriend that dumped it. Pissed off that he was spending his weekends at the track with his bud's instead of going shoe shopping with her.  

If the spokes and hubs look like that pretty much every one of the electrical connections is going to be shit as well. If you took it all apart and vapor blasted everything you could get the corrosion off but everything is still going to be pitted as hell. You could get it operational for not terribly much money but its still going to look like shit. 

I wish they had a pic of where the bike was and maybe some of them pulling it out.

I've definitely seen plenty of places, in real life or in videos, where I've thought "boy if a guy crashed right here, how would they ever get the bike back out?".  The story seems totally plausible to me.

Happened at Red River or there are some serious woods riding spots with some deep ass ravines I discovered about 15 minutes from Alvord, TX

No, I'm not talking about Oak Hill MX.

This is a radical trail riding area. Has a wet creek running through it and the feeder ravines are 20 ft deep and the creek ravine is a good 30 feet deep with walls so steep there is no way out until you get to the next feeder ravine. Its the gnarliest spot I've ever found in N. Texas and I've been here 26 years now.

I live and ride in Texas and if I had to guess, bike was probably stuck somewhere close to the Red River, plenty of gnarly trails there with some nasty ravines, (see Red Bull last man standing). He mentioned that the aluminum was starting to pit, this is a big red flag for me. The mineral content of the soil up there is pretty caustic. I've seen the finish completely ruined on buddies' bikes by simply not washing for a few weeks after a muddy ride. My guess is that the electrical components, fuel system, and anything else exposed to the elements in that duration of time is toast. Not to mention no title on a 2020???, that's a big no for me!

If you don't wash your bike immediately after riding the red River you will find rust everywhere the next day or so. 

Which really begs the question.....does he really own it and did the person that sold it to him own it? It's hard to imagine something that valuable just left somewhere. While wondering why it wasn't dismantled at the scene and taken piece by piece. While wondering why some of the details were left out......

I always ask if folks selling vehicles that should have titles..."Do you own this (whatever)?". Some get deeply offended...some never answer. You also get "Well, we broke up last year and he never came and got it...."...."I'm a single Mother..."

I have a cop friend I run things like this through....guns, bikes etc. Serial numbers. There is an entity called the North Texas Vehicle Theft Task Force. This is the agency you go through to get Bonded Titles. Just because you buy or "find' something doesn't mean it should be so.

To me, something ain't right. Example: There are many derelict boats, airplanes and RV's around. To do it legally in many cases, will take money and a lot of time. No one has mentioned foul play of any kind here......owner 6 months in the hospital for example?

BTW, there are plenty of ravines everywhere in Texas and just not associated with bike trails etc. This may be totally legit. But I'd make the guy prove it. Example: A friend of mine's street bike was stolen....it was found in a ravine and creek.......
