SX Lights suspension rules?

What are thew rules this year for the suspension in the lights class? This year there are Fox forks on bikes but I thought you had to use stock tubes but could mod/replace the guts.

Yeah, I was wondering the same.

Fox has been working on some cartridges for existing forks, but other than that, I'm not sure what you mean.

From what I've read the star team runs the fox shock and run the stickers on the tubes for advertising reasons, enzo does the forks.

As long as the fork tubes and cartridge rod are homologated with the AMA and available for sale, they can run whatever they want. I haven't seen anything from Fox as far as fork cartridges (besides their mini stuff). As far as I know they are just revalving/modifying the stock forks and putting their fork caps on.

Star does not run FOX components anymore. ENZO is doing their suspension front and rear.


The Fox shocks are good, however so are the stock shocks. Trying to sell an aftermarket shock is a difficult task. The stock stuff works so good now it's hard to make a big enough improvement to justify the cost. IMHO save your money and get springs and a revalve.

Chisholm and Peick run them on their Rock River YZ450's. Forks are just Fox guts, shock is Fox. Chisholm got 11th last weekend so it must not be too bad.

ktm is running those 52mm forks that are probably the hardest thing to find in the world, so i dunno how they are homologated

Kitted stock stuff...or...Homolgated(?) on 'Lites".

Haven't even opened the rule book, this year.

The 55 and 58 are running re-valved stock stuff.

FOX rear shocks are really good. We have been Testing the rear shock on KTM's all year now for SX and it works better than the stock shock body and has better adjustments. The Quality is higher also.
