I’m in Las Vegas right now…..madness.    I’ve never seen F1racing before and it’s pretty exciting

You come from moto, it’s not exciting trust me. Just enjoy this one. 

I try to watch it but I just can’t get into it. It would be fun to drive one though.

Trying to watch the race live was gaaaay.   The event and feel of the event was exciting.   They blocked every viewing point so if you didn’t buy tickets it was hard to see much of anything.   I watched the second half of the race from my hotel room on tv.   It was cool to hear all the noise outside while watching it live on tv.   

F1 in its current formula (IMO) stinks.  I’ve followed F1 my entire life and for me part of the experience was the noise!  Naturally aspirated v10s at 18,000+ RPM was amazing to listen to.  Again my opinion, but a 2004 F1 car would generate faster lap times IF they had the same tires they currently run.  Back then they ran grooved tires to slow the cornering speeds.   the famed 3ltr Ferrari V12 screamed as well, but I enjoyed the V10s more.  

They really did kind of ruin it when they ditched the V10s and went to V6s

The V8s prior to the V6s really screamed too.  I believe the cosworth was pushing 20k + before it was limited.   

I was there for the Bill Burr show on Friday night a got to see/hear a couple cars run practice laps. Was surprised how quiet they were. All the super cars ripping the side streets all day were way louder than the F1’s.  F1’s sounded like finely tuned street bikes. Cool nonetheless

Still, ”best” F1 era was the 70’s…

70s were amazingly fast.  Fat rears small front, lots of drifting, and deadly.   So many good drivers lost too soon.

Before this thread is completely dead, I feel the need to at least close it off saying that isn't DB announcing since everyone seems to be thinking it is. He does sound similar though!
