I got one from twisted from 2 months ago and it barks. Broke my Yoshi and got a FMF with a short header and now it really barks on top.

Fuck yeah, glad you’re getting her dialed in. Snag a ‘23 for next season!

I should, mine has 73 hours but still feels tight. I think I'm going to run it to 100 and see about getting a 24 as long as the reviews are good.

I just did a piston and ring on my ‘19 last weekend at 90 hours and it looked like I could  have easily gone quite a bit longer.  I would be very comfortable putting 100 hours on this engine before putting in a new piston.

That's a cool backdrop. Reminds me of the first spot where Jesse and Mr. White cooked.

Well that photo was taken in New Mexico, so there's a chance they were cooking up pretty close lol

Does anybody have trouble with the front brake line blowing apart? Mine seem to blow apart way too easy. Both up top at the curve & on the bottom on the fork guard clamp. It is super annoying. If i tape them up they hold a lot better but man that's uglyyy.

I had the oem line internally fail right about when kawi's service manual says to replace it (wouldn't allow pressure back to the mc).   I ended up putting on a galfer and it's worked flawlessly for the past year.

I think he is talking about the rubber on the outside of the line because my bike is doing it.

Replace it with a steel braided line. Better performance anyways.

The first impressions of the 24 are starting to come in! Sounds tempting, but the wife would castrate me!

Everything sounds tempting but the motor. As a fat guy, I like a beast of a motor. I still haven't ridden my 23sr on a track yet lol. The motor in the yard was comparable to my 23yz n crf tho so i wont worry there.

Haven't ridden the 24, but I think the motor being slow on the 19-23 gets blown way out of proportion. Even coming off a 17 Honda that had a monster motor and me being a heavier dude, this bike is not slow by any means. Once you're about 10-15 minutes into a moto I think the smoother character helps a lot. It easily gets me over any jump I want but doesn't rip my arms off coming out of turns.

11 hours in and I'm still loving this bike. Absolutely no regrets changing brands after 14 years. Riding it again tomorrow. Only things I don't like so far are the forks are too soft and the air filter can be a bit of a pain to put back in. How many hours are you guys going before re-greasing your steering bearings?

I run x trig clamps & I have 2 sets. The green set that is just 23 mm & the nut is not a closed nut. This set seems to get water down in the bearing quickly. I grease my steering bearings quite a bit but recently i started covering that nut with a little wash rag & that has helped tremendously.

My other set of x trigs are the red ones that flip around & they have a closed nut & seem to not let near as much water in. I still use the washcloth to cover the nut to help keep water out.

Depending how much you wash your bike makes a huge difference here. I would suggest checking it here soon just to clean & evaluate. I believe the SR does not have a closed nut & i don't think the x trigs seal it off super well. If you have not greased it since you got it I would get on this ASAP as the kx machines typically come with virtually no grease whatsoever.

Makes sense. I'll be sending my suspension out here soon so I'll do it then.

Has anyone purchased a charger for theirs yet? Broke my leg late last year and went out to start it today for the first time since, completely dead. Wondering if you have to buy the Kaw one or if there's a better option. Thanks

Bump start it in 3rd gear and run it for a bit.  If it doesn’t hold a charge and restart easily, it might just be time for a new battery.  If it turns over but doesn’t have enough juice to start, try warming the engine up a bit by putting it in front of a heater before you start it.

Last winter I went to an indoor track and it was way below freezing outside, and still pretty cold in the building.  My bike didn’t start until I parked it right in front of a heater and let it warm up for about 15 minutes.

I bought a cheap charger like this one on EBay and it seems to get the job done.  I don’t leave it plugged in all the time, but if I’m going to ride in cold weather when I haven’t ridden in a long time, I plug it in and charge it up for a bit.

And the price was right on this.
Can someone give me the Cliff notes on these 188 pages, what are the tried and true mods and fixes for these ‘19 - ‘23 bikes?
Will 14 -51 help with the chain slapping noise?

Go up one tooth in the rear to bring 3rd gear in play in the corners and wear earplugs.  Fork oil needs to be 370ml.  Grease the steering head (and suspension if you have time) bearings prior to riding the bike so you don’t have to clean things before smearing on more grease.  Honestly, that’s about it.  Set the sag and have fun!

Congrats! And welcome to the club. First things first grease those bearings with some water proof grease. And like quadz said you probably want to add some oil to the outer chamber of the forks. Stock they only come with 310cc which is nothing. Depending on your weight you may have to go up in spring rates on the fork as they are very soft stock 5.0. Can't think of much else other than that.
