As far as "only the riders know what happened", I've ridden a lot of races and I never remember much about them afterward, and high level guys are the same. Guys are always up on the podium and the interviewer asks, "where did you pass x" or "what about that line through y" and they often can't remember. Last week, Eric Bates asked Stewart about his pass on Dungey and he said, "Where did I pass him? Oh, yeah, in the whoops." Uh, no, James, you passed him in a left hand turn. That happens all the time. Too much adrenalin, too much effort and it's all kind of a blur and vauge impressions afterward. So, fans speculate and guess and I think the riders do, too.

OK, enough, I'm going riding...

As far as what I saw, was that James moved over on KP and cause that incident. The Reed Stewart incidnet was a non issue period. As far as what happen in the pits? I don't know so I didn't comment on that.

Please point out where i am guessing on and what shit did I make up?
Do you know why James appeared to move over?
Do you know what he saw in front of him?
Do you know what he was planning or anticipating?
Do you know what he was thinking?

All I am going to say in any of this is very simple:

NONE of you were on the bike
NONE of you know EXACTLY what happened and why
NONE of you know what the rider was thinking
Things happen in racing in FRACTIONS of seconds and FRACTIONS of inches
ALL of you are guessing and/or making shit up

AND LASTLY, all of you see what you want to see
(which most of the time isn't reality)

Don't you think that if Reed wanted to punt James he could have done it in that corner? I know I'm not going to change your mind and I'm not looking to, but Reed could have sent Stewart over the berm in that corner. Reed almost came to a stop to avoid hitting him. I'm just another guy that thinks that Reed was off the pace and couldn't pass James. And as I stated in your other thread, Reed wasn't hiding in a locked motor home. He was getting his hand checked.
Can you please respond to the first sentence. I'm just curious, not bashing you at all.

I'm sure he could have hit him much harder. As I said, if he hadn't spent so much time riding behind Stewart in a race that he really, really needed to win, I wouldn't have thought a thing of the actual contact. If Stewart hadn't been hurting already, he probably wouldn't have even fallen.

BTW, Stewart is just as guilty of bizarro head games. His '02 Unadilla stunt was, in my opinion, pretty crappy. Who knows, maybe Reed remembers that and maybe that's where a lot of the hatred between those guys comes from.

Also, motocross has had those kinds of hatred games before. Hannah/Howerton, Johnson/Bailey, Hughes/Henry are just a few. I don't like all that drama baloney, but those things happen sometimes. It's funny, though, I rode my first race in 1971 and I've never had an enemy on the track. I like some guys more than others, but I just can't imagine going to the line hating another rider. That's gotta take the fun out of it, it seems to me.

Reed followed him for one reason, it isnt easy to pass some of the best riders in the world. Stewart was getting held up by the Honda riders, and so Reed was getting held up by Stewart, who was getting held up. Thats why the lap times were slower, they were behind people who werent running their pace. Reed had nothing to gain by hitting Stewart, it would make zero sense for him to risk crashing with him
i completely agree.i dont think reed wanted to risk his season on taking out a rider that was already floundering around in pain, i think he was just trying to get around him

Knucklehead....... I actually completely agree 100% with you. However, logic and common sense has no place here and you know this. Reed could have and should have passed Bubba several laps earlier and gone for the win.

Using this logic, we may as well throw out our entire judicial system. There can never be a witness. Only the perpetrator can know the truth.

What you are trying to do is justifie what happen. That's different then saying no one know's what happen.

I am not the type of guy that likes to hammer on any rider but this isn't the first time that James has done this and if someone doesn't address the issue it won't be the last.
