anybody else kind of feel like we are one stupid decision away from WW3?

Am I the only one who didn't know we had a base in Syria?

I thought Syrian president Bashar al-Assad was on our "we don't get along with that leader" list. I thought he was Putins buddy.

Ahh the web we weave. Or is it the entanglements we place ourselves?

Yeah, it’s an illegal occupation and scheme to steal oil to fund the CIA and black ops. They wanna “democratize” Syria just like Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and all the others they brought freedom to😂😂

Right now the puppet masters in charge are walking a tightrope.

Allowing Iranian funded militants to hit and run on our bases, seriously wounding our soldiers, fortifying the northern Gaza border,  all because they have us over a barrel.

Pun intended.

If, and when we ramp up a proxy war with Iran,  the price per barrel of oil is going to skyrocket.

And there would go any chance of retaining the power of the white house.

No matter the political opponent.

We've sold out this entire nation.

Our manufacturing to the Chinese.

Our petrochemical industry to the middle east.

We have more sweet crude, natural gas, and high quality coal than anywhere else in the world.

Both industries need to be brought back within our borders.

And militarize their security.

Once repatriated our economy rebound, and thrive.

You have some valid points but (you knew it was comingGrinning)...the Govt did not ship our industries overseas.  Those benevolent business owners did that.

As far as oil/coal...better to have the inevitable pollution/mess over there than here I reckon.

Traveling back from Cali last week we spent the night in Roswell NM.  Chewed the fat with a bunch of oilers at the hotel.  They are plugging wells like crazy.  Most folks don't know that when you frack a new well...it flows like crazy but not for long.  Massive fields already played out (or below cost effectiveness).  I ain't saying we're out of oil but I reckon the salad days are over.  (I have fracked a lot of wells...I know how it works).

Been drilling, and capping wells for years.

Around here for about a decade now, they been going back into old played out coal seams, finding that huge amounts of natural gas has seeped into the seams.

They been drilling and capping gas wells like crazy all along the edge of the Cumberland plateau.

In other words, we're so damn capable of being energy independent.

With far better quality product for our refineries, and coal plants.

And yet they're shutting down coal plants all across the TVA region.

🤔

While the government did not ship our industries overseas, they did make it "unfriendly" to stay here. IE: I had a customer (back in the 90s) that did paints and solvents in CA. The government regulators came along and said you have to clean your air to XYZ emissions. Customer told them there is no technology to achieve that level. CA regulator said if you want to stay in CA you'll invest to develop it. Customer moved to AZ. CA lost 50 jobs. This is not an unusual story. We create unrealistic standards and push manufacturing away. Just sayin,

Many years ago (40) Sony made televisions in Rancho Bernardo. My wife at the time was an executive secretary to one of the VPs. She came home one day and said they got this massive fine because the water they were discharging in the drain was TOO CLEAN. Sony no longer makes TVs here.

Trichloroethylene was a cleaner back then but dumping it down the drain doesn't really make water "too clean"Silly. I couldn't resist.

Bottom line is,

Strangulating government regulations have forced nearly everything once produced in this country, overseas.

Try going in any type of store and see how most everything is made in china.

Our script meds, made in china.

Most every damn power tool, made in china.

Michelin/BF Goodrich

is closing a major manufacturing plant in the USA, thanks to being undercut by tyres coming in from Asian markets.

Our petrochemical industry damn sure doesn't want to be importing crude from the middle east.

We're a shell of the powerhouse we used to be on the manufacturing front.

And it wasn't the choice of one single business to have to outsource.

It was all but forced upon them.

Stupid decisions have been made slowly over the past few decades that leave us vulnerable for the fallout of all of the bullshit going on right now.

Bullshit we've funded on all sides, walking that tightrope trying to control the price per barrel.

It's kind of funny how all the "greenies" want to get rid of oil. They don't realize that their carpet, tires, shampoo bottles... all come from oil. Wait till they figure that one out.

Got home from a long weekend last night.

Reading this morning about powderkegs all around the globe simmering, and just waiting to boil over.

England.

France.

Other places in Europe where they allowed "immigrants" to just flow in en masse.

(sound familiar??)

Numerous cities here are on the verge of civil unrest, the type that will make the "peaceful protests" of 2016 look like a picnic.

We're also seeing the results of our college generation becoming nothing more than indoctrinated dupes.

The whole lgtbqxyz pronoun clowns are desperately trying to attach themselves to the coming melee.

Not to mention the ones who have been parading in across our southern border.

(Remember the ones recently in NYC who were demanding they not be evicted from their high end hotels ???)

Shit's gonna get real.

And our elected officials haven't done a damn thing to stop it.

It's been a slow boil for many, many years now.

But the past couple of years it's accelerated due to a complete lack of true leadership in DC.

Yep, shit's gonna get real.

What do the 81million have to say now??

So what is the fix? To remove all worker and environment protections? It's hard to get a teenager to work for $18hr at McDonalds but you think we are going to get kids to work with steel or adults to help extract crude for even less money? With even less regard to their well being or environment? Our regulations make America such a great place to live, albeit some a bit overboard - most are a necessity. I worked at a fiberglass plant and the things they did make me sick, I wouldn't want to live within a mile+ radius of a fiberglass plant in the USA. Although it was deemed safe they had rain run-off going directly into a nearby stream, with all the neighbor houses on well water.... What if that place had even LESS regulation? They would have been pumping those chemicals into the stream, gallons and gallons a day. That would have an enormous environmental impact.  I highly doubt anybody is regulating that in, let's say the worse parts of India or China. Your water point above was a good example, although commercial RO systems sometimes have backwash systems that feed directly into sewer systems - maybe that part of the equipment was part of the problem? They literally backwash all the bad crap directly to the sewer. I have heard of that before at other chemical plants (I highly doubt the offloading of RO water was the issue? I would have loved to see that write-up!).  I agree there are a bit overzealous regulations out there, but what is the alternative that doesn't hurt our workforce or environment? We need to get rid of the "dumb" ones, but who decides which ones are "Dumb"?

I asked one of our inspectors about it at a later date because it just seemed so wrong. He told me that they calculate a specific water that goes through their waste water facility. Water that's "too clean" causes their system to need adjustments just like water that's too dirty, so yes they write you up for that also. I still think it's wonky but that's how they do it. Keep in mind this was 40 years ago and I don't believe systems were as automated however, very rarely do regulations ever get relaxed or removed.

10 years ago, we had a customer that made a measuring tool. It required painting. If you used a paint gun, you needed a paint booth. That was very expensive. If you used paint cans, you could spray as much as you want. By the way, they did have a paint booth with filtration but the it was not deemed suitable. They went through pallets of individual paint cans. I can understand if they say, painting more than 5 gallons (pick a reasonable number) of paint a  month and we require some confinement/filtration system. But some regulations make no sense. About 5-7 years ago, the inspector came a said, paint cans are hazardous materials, you have to have a hazardous materials company come and retrieve them. The company is now in Texas.

Links ???

I think anyone with their eyes open can see what's coming down the pike.

No one, or two, websites can give a overall view of things happening right now.

And some are still obsessed over the previous president, climate change, and all of the rest of the manufactured crisis they want you to focus on.

Links ???

I think anyone with their eyes open can see what's coming down the pike.

No one, or two, websites can give a overall view of things happening right now.

And some are still obsessed over the previous president, climate change, and all of the rest of the manufactured crisis they want you to focus on.

Wasn't trying to argue, was trying to get educated and maybe help others too.

It's all good brother, I'll be a lot better off than 99% of Americans if shit gets wild.

None of us wants this.

But it's nothing we've been allowed to have any control over.

But our communities may suffer the consequences.

I'd hate to be living in, or around any big city, or urban area.

Hope I'm wrong.

If I remember right, you've been on here talking about stocking up on essentials.

So, you get it.

Nothing different than what’s been going on for many years. Maybe you have short term memory. All the people that hated the west  still do. US doesn’t do its self any favours by butting in to the worlds business. Not sure why it’s so concerning all the sudden. That’s how we got the Patriot Act. You want more government controls? The government wants to put the average American behind bars more than any immigrant coming here.
