Someone that hasnt been mentioned yet...

Jay Marmont - Guys got so much heart to even think about riding 2 days after your daughters passing and to win the race is just amazing.

Dungey, he rips on a motorcycle. And Barcia, he has the sickest riding style and makes everything look so effortless!

Such a tough choice.

Right now I'd have to say Dungey! Proof that a lot of hard work and training can pay off. Great attitude.

And what is it with Americans and Christianity?!?!?! I would respect a rider more if he wasn't religious. I think Canard is awesome....but his podium speeches thanking everything to the baby jeebus really start to shit me.

I am a fan of all of the riders but my favorite riders are those like Jason Thomas. They work just as hard as anyone else for less compensation and less exposure. With that said, it doesn't stop them from returning each season to give it their best shot.

My man Ivan "Hot Sauce" Tedesco. He's been my favorite rider since his first year on the Pro Circuit team. I've caught tons of crap from guys on the boards defending IT9, and I'll continue to do so until he retires. The #1 reason that I like him is that he's a class act. He never does anything to misrepresent himself on or off of camera. Take for instance the Alessi incident at Glen Helen. Honestly, how many guys would have remained as calm as Ivan did when you are about to win the Lites Championship and you've got this tool taking you out then pulling his bike on top of yours, standing on your bike and trying to hit your kill switch? Even afterwards, he kept a pretty cool head about it. He rides clean and in control, He's an underdog and I like that. He's not expected to be on the podium. How hard is it to root for James, Chad, or RC? If you're a fan of a guy who isn't one of the top guys, you're a true fan because it's not always easy. Good Luck in Phoenix Ivan!!!
I like this. I'm not a huge fan of Ivan- though I am a fan, but I especially agree with the next to last sentence. Boom, exactly what I have been thinking for years.

I am going to have to go with part-timer John Dowd. Why? Well us old guys have to stick together and you gotta admit, Southwick last year was awesome.

For my full-timer it would have to be Blake Wharton. He is fast and smooth and cool as a cucumber under pressure.

Christophe Pourcel - I was always a fan after he came back from what seamed like a career ending injury to compete at the level he is. Watching his creative line choices at the end of the day at Unadilla was nothing short of amazing, he just has an effortless riding style. I think he's misunderstood a lot as well, he has a dry sense of humor that's actually quite amusing.

Stewy also because he most likely had to have worked harder than any other rider to get where he is at.

Dungey also. How can you not like RD.

Non current - Bailey, Lechien, RC, Bradshaw, Matasiavich ahhh forget it too many.
Im curious...why has Stewart had to work harder then anyone else?

Justin Barcia--He was extremely friendly when we met him in CO
Ryan Villipoto--He rides like he is full of piss and vinegar.
Jake Wiemer--My 5 year old son has always rooted for him, not sure why but I think his name might be fun for a kid to say.

The theory is the faster you are the harder you worked to get there. Most likely.

I guess we disagree. I dont think James works harder then a lot of privateers out there that don't have people wait on them hand and foot. I think he is just way more naturally talented.

Do you think James worked harder then RC did?

No. I don't think any rider did.

Kevin Windham is my personal favorite active rider. I really wish he could have stolen a major title somewhere, somehow. He is sorta like Dan Marino who is my All Time Favorite Pro Athlete.-great careers, class acts, just never got the Big One. You know, I don't think it eats at either one of them. Marino got there and lost big to the 49ers juggernaut in just his second year. He probably thought he'd get several more chances......

Current - Stewart, real original I know. In the past, Ron Lechien. I loved to watch him ride and he was my favorite in the pits too.

Nobody ever says Millsaps, do they?

I'm not gonna start.

Windham, for sure.

Chad Reed : Because he is a fellow Aussie and did it tough leaving Australia and going to Europe on a shoestring budget just so he could show his talent so he could live his dream and ride for a factory team in the USA. He also would have to break a bone to pull out of a race.

Micheal Byrne used to watch him race locally years before he went to the USA

Jason Lawerence, Josh Grant and Kevin Windham have such great riding styles.

James Stewart :Because he is so blindingly fast.

I dont have any problems with any of the top riders but I have never taken to Andrew Short for unknown reasons.

Gotta say that I wasn't a big Reed fan after he went sx only even though I would kill for one of those factory blue Y250 2 smokers he rode (like the one he used to straight up beat RC at Daytona with), but I have become a huge fan with the way he has persevered, and sacked up to race the outdoors. To boot, he bet on himself to win the damn title! That took some serious seeds.

There are many other great riders currently on the line that would make fantastic choices, but I would have to go with Dungey after Reed. Pure moto in every way and does everything with the understanding that he knows it is a PRIVILEGE to be doing what he is doing and treats it as such. The kid is a professional.
