I'm curious as to how many of you think that Biden will be the Dem nominee 1 year from now. I'll go out on a seldom visited limb here and predict No. I don't make predictions much any more because of how often I have been wrong but I cannot conjure any scenario where Biden is the choice. I think the DNC knows he would be a general election disaster but they have a problem with tradition in that a primary challenge by any highly ranked, loyal Democrat replacement is not likely and would end up delivering an even more damaged nominee when it's over. Sitting President's have the luxury of not having to be thrashed by their own party in a primary.
My second prediction is that he will be replaced between the primaries and the convention where their own choice will be voted in , which used to be the way nominees were chosen.. A sudden health concern would be the most likely excuse. How they end up dealing with Harris is a bit more difficult but she would be as bad, if not worse that Biden.

i think he will be the demos guy as long as trump is the front runner for the gop.
if republicans get somebody who has more appeal to moderates like haley, scott, or a wildcard like youngkin, then the demos will panic and go full left field with newsome.
Everyone knows he is a walking puppet, and they can use the his age and cognitive decline to have him exit the race.
The reason they don't want to do that is the tricky subject of how to skip Kamala and leave her behind. She has less of a chance than Joe even with all his age related issues.
Gavin is already primed and ready, they just can't make him the choice without figuring out a way of dealing with Kamala.

I can tell you this much from a few local democrat politicians out in Chicago and someone I knew in the WH until a few months back. No one in their loop thought Kamala was going to be this bad. They thought they could groom her and bring her up make her look like a strong candidate next to Biden. She wasn't just to get the black and female vote. But as we can painfully see she's just fuckin terrible.
Gavin would be worse than Biden...Harris would be worse than Biden...And because I think Trump will be the GOP nominee, but will absolutely lose the general...I'd rather have Biden than Gavin or Harris...so I hope they can prop Biden up through the election, and hopefully get him a new VP...

I can't imagine Biden in a debate with Trump. There is no way he remains the nominee. Seems like Gavin is the next in line. I'll never understand how "Mrs. Obama" is in any conversation as a potential nominee for the presidency.
The current deal with Biden is he collects as much money as possible, campaign donations. Then he suspends his campaign due to health concerns and gets to pocket all the campaign donations. If he only suspends, he gets to keep the money, if he pulls out of the race he has to return all unspent money. So he'll never pull out officially. Then Michelle will swoop in and save the day pardoning all Bidens.

Here's my two cents for what it's worth; Joe bows out for health reasons and the dems throw Kamala in as the sacrificial lamb, handing the election to Trump. They then spend four years doing the racist/misogynist/end of our democracy bullshit while building up their 2028 candidate (Newsom of Big Mike is my guess) as the Great Savior of Our Land knowing Trump can't run again. And unless the GOP comes out equally hard with a great option, the dems will be pretty much guaranteed the White House.

They didn't but they thought they could build her up over 4 years into the next in line. An with her ticking all the boxes they need plus being from California which is a huge electorate. They only need her to be a mouth piece like their doing with biden. At least that is what I've heard. But they have 3 terrible people waiting in line to stab her in the back and take over.
One thats even better is the fact that msm, democrats and democrats campaign talking heads all pointed to the fact that her polling at 2-3% when she dropped out was due to racism and sexism. So racism and sexism was the reason she dropped out of the Democcrats presidential primary. How can Trump even run with all the legal issues he's in? I don't follow all this stuff that close but even just dealing with the stress from all that while also trying to campaign would be insane.
