He's a young dude who's had a big rookie season (which is still going), in his instance I'd say fair enough if he's just not feeling it or doesn't want the pressure or wants to focus on his first full season.

You can't send multi-million dollar athletes to MXoN on a team Mexico budget. The teams also have 1-2 extra races to pay for this year. Maybe the budget simply isn't there for this race? Maybe they don't want to or can't pull extra funds from corporate to send a team that has no real chance at winning?

This race happens every year. Budget for it in a responsible way. A lot of years you won't end up going and now your budget has a cushion. This isn't complicated.

Viewing his tweet from UK gives you the time it was posted at UK time. He was in England a few weeks ago for VMXDN and staying at Mel Pocock's place but as far as I know went back to US.
It would be neat if he gets to ride MXoN and VMXDN in the same year, that must be a first. He's the real Captain America.

All the guys over there I talk to want to see Americans race in France, but they get it, shit happens sometimes. Remember, American racers have up to 31 contracted events to race this year, MXGP guys have 19.

I think you're forgetting the national rounds they race here in Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain,... It's not just the GP's.
Some of them even compete 1 or 2 rounds at multiple championships as a guest rider.
I really wish people who speak about schedules actually understood what a top MXGP riders’ schedule actually looks like

Enlighten us on the total number of races that the French team riders have raced outside of MXGP this year as they are the favored team...I'm really just curious as I see this argument all the time but it's never backed up with facts....and a fact for your side...I can't think of one top rider in the US that has raced all 31 races....
