What were the Green strips around the lower fork clamps at charlotte?

Leader lights.  Supposed to light up on the leader’s bike (similar to Nicoletti earlier this year)

It stays green when the rider is leading. They are highly visible even in daylight. 

I think the top 3 should have them in different colors so fans can see who the top 3 are and lappers can see them also when they are approaching.

Stupid gimmick. Were my eyes deceiving me or were some of them lit on bikes that were not the leader? Can we get timing and scoring that works first?
