The MXGP team is already testing a new chassis that is rumored to be the ‘25 one.

After Keefer tested Jett's bike and said how user friendly it was, it got me thinking that one would hope that they would take some of that knowledge and put it into a stock bike. After all that's partly what racing is for... r&d... right?

Unfortunately I think that's wishful thinking.

Kinda a wtf do I know as I don't have and haven't ridden one, but having listened to that podcast and heard what he had to say about the Lawrence's bikes vs. Sexton's, I almost wonder if people are going the completely wrong way on setup and shooting themselves in the foot. Especially if you read tests on the softer RX bikes which people seem to like?

The sooner the better. Honda really needs to go back to the drawing board.

Maybe just bring back the 08 450 and make it modern...

can't wait for the lavender / matte black color scheme they're purported to be moving to in 2025

The only real problem with the bike is its stability at high speed and everyone except Jett Lawrence has said that but he runs a steering stabilizer so, Hunter crashes more often than chase did and Hunter and Jett’s bikes are quite similar, so a lot of it is the rider but that being said everyone rides every bike a bit different and sets it up different, I imagine they try to get some high speed stability and some predictablility out of the bike for 2025

You gotta appeal to the every day rider though that’s where the sales come from and this chassis has a horrible rep for being unpredictable and unstable at speed and I imagine that’s what they will fix for 25, the engine package is good and suspension may see some changes as well but I think mainly they will come back with some stability

You know they started working on this bike in probably 2021.
using your logic we would all be riding air cooled tech from the 70’s if we just went off what won last.

the stupidity is never ending.

it's crazy to think about that. and by that same production cadence they're probably already working on the 2029 model. this does explain the slow progress in aesthetic design now that I think about it. In the 1980's and early 1990's they advanced much faster but if we're now accepting each machine has a 4 year run, then the "look" of the bike 4 years from now isn't going to be "that" much different than what we see today, whereas a 1990 KX 250 compared with a 1986 model is light years different.
