Ive been defending this game since the beginning. It had the possibility to be the best MX game ever created, BUT............

Whoever programmed the AI for the other riders should be hung. When you cant go 3 corners without getting torpedoed by another rider, it gets frustrating. I finally had to start sitting at the gate until the other riders cleared the first turn before starting, but then you have to pass everyone, and get "Chisolm-ed" by them anyway.

Dont get me wrong, I love the game, and Rainbow/THQ did an admirable job, but when you crash more than Stewart in his rookie year, its just frustrating.

Yea, between that and the online issues, the luster is starting to wear off a bit. If the game sucks online (and it does), then it needs to be a good stand-alone game...and it's not. The career mode sucks. I wanted to be able to do a full supercross (or national) series without doing the other crap. Plus, like you said, the AI is retarded. I like close racing, block passing, and even a little contact. You have to totally avoid the AI racers to have a snowball's chance to win. Actually, after having waited 20-30 minutes to finally get into a race online, some of the dunderheads that crash you online aren't much better. I'm fully convinced that about half are pre-pubescent kids trying to piss people off.

Rant over. I played COD5 this weekend instead. Connected to a came in less than a minute every time, and played as long as I wanted.

It a decent game but between the online bullshit and the career mode bullshit ive kind of gave up on the game. i would like to play the sx and mx series but im not about to play a bunch of boring waypoint and whatever crap you have play to unlock the sx/mx/ tracks . maybe some cheat codes will come out soon to unlock the tracks. Im pissed with whole setup of the game, damn shame too because its really a good one. I always play the same 4 mx tracks online is that because i havent unlocked all the tracks in career mode?????

Been playing online almost every night for the last week or so with a group of friends doing the private sessions. We've had almost no problems at all...

i can deal with most of the problems but the one that bothers me and my kids the most is when we play 2 player/splitscreen. all three of us use the 2nd button setting with clutch on left button. when playing split screen the second players clutch goes back to right button. even though its changed in his profile. its minor but it sucks when its me cause i use the clutch so much and not coordinated enough to use it on right side.

i can't believe the game was released like this. the AI and online issues are ridiculous. i've spent the last hour trying to play online without getting to race once

For those of you that are bitching, shut up and make a better one. If you can't, then just plain shut up.

Actually there are some issues, I love the controls it makes it worth putting up with the other shortcomings of the game. Heck the servers are down or something, no one can get on live reflex at the moment. So i race a "career" race, holeshot and check out, it counts me a lap down! If they just fix the leaderboards i'll be happy, then you could at least try for hot laps. Man wanted this game to be the shit so bad I have been ignoring the flaws but it's like wearing some high dollar shoes with a piece of glass in your foot.

Best analogy I've heard yet.

On one hand, this game is revolutionary. Best graphics ever on a mx title. Best physics engine (yea I know it's hard to play, but that's the attraction). The track deterioration is a little exaggerated, but they're on the right track with that aspect. The tracks are great, best yet IMO. I love it!

On the other hand (see my post above).

If I woke up tomorrow and the online aspect of the game were fixed, I'd come back here and delete both of my posts. I want to love this game so bad, and I don't regret spending $60 for it, but I don't have endless hours to sit around playing. I work for a living and I have two kids (one of which, I have to nudge off of the PS3 so I can play) so I have a small window of opportunity to play. I can't waste it hanging around for thirty minutes in the compound doing whips waiting to get into a game, which half of the time never happens.

You know i think we have the right to complain about it! after all we have been waiting 2 years for this game... and since there were no fixes for the old game (untamed) it was all we had to look forward to in a MX game...That being said these games are expensive you should get what you pay for RIGHT? I wish someone else would make a new game at least there would be competition between game desigeners to make a a perfect game like this one could have been.

Like I said earlier, a bunch of us have been playing "Private session" games every night and have had very little if any issues. The only problems being once in awhile someone will get booted out of the game but that has rarely happened.

Awesome game!!!
The only improvement that I would wish for is more SX and Nat. tracks, the other stuff in the game was just a waste of time.

I got the PS3 and Reflex for Xmas. The game physics and tracks are awesome, especially the SX tracks! Im not much of an online player so I havent tried that yet and cant comment on that, but I have a major problem with the AI riders! You have to holeshot or be 2nd into the turn to have a chance at a win. Trying to come through that pack and make passes is like entering a gauntlet! a few times I have tried to make passes in the whoops or rhythm sections and have had AI riders make an abrupt turn right into me and take me out in full kamakazi mode. I have resorted to just restarting each race if I dont score a holeshot to avoid the crap. Also, I too dont like having to do the other lame series to unlock MX and SX. I have unlocked a few tracks in each already and will be content with those for a while until the cheat codes come out to unlock everything.

Race under Pro. The AI seems to be a little better.

Get ready when you play online it is always a crash fest. I never get around the first turn with out getting knocked down or run off the track.

Yeah I do the same, its just crap trying to run through the pack. Like just before I tried railing the outside line on a berm only to just have a AI rider fly straight into me putting me from around 3rd-4th to like 10th. But overall its a great game but the rider does look a little too goon like haha.

I couldn't get into one until I wired my PS3 direct. Yes, it's kind of a pain in the ass, but it's worth it.

I've managed a fair few online National sessions of late, but can't enter a SX session for love nor money..

I love this game, it's floors are annoying but I keep coming back for more. If you're lucky enough to enter a National session with ten or so other guys (above the age of 12), without any glitches.... it's an absolute blast!

I believe Rainbow have said that DLC will be available for PS3 and XBox, so we may be seeing more tracks, riding gear, general game updates (maybe a rodney AI fix!!) etc in the future, which would be awsome Smile

Forgot to say, for those who've had enough of the AI goon riders, try racing in 'Pro' or 'All Time', the competition tend to hold their lines and are generally easier to race against..

Not sure if this will help PS3 guys, I'm Xbox360. Last night there were long waits in the public rooms,so we started a private room. The wait time turned to Zero and i had no problem connecting or launching games. I have ports 9103 and 1000 open on my router and I set my IP on the Xbox to 196.168.0.50. Those are the ports some rainbow guy said to use on the forum. We stayed in the same room, so i only "joined" once with these settings, so far i'm 1 for 1. I'll let yall know how my joining goes today.

Same issues here pretty much. Completed the game on the 'All Time' difficulty in a weekend, didn't really notice the bad A.I. - the riders are more kamikaze on the easier settings, but I think its the fact that you fall off from the slightest collision that is more of a problem. It doesn't ruin the game though - I just learned to give the riders space when passing, as you would in real life I guess?

The problems playing online though... don't get me started. They clearly did zero testing online and rushed it - and it DOES ruin the game.

What the game needs is more SX and MX tracks and less bullshit.

No doubt, imagine ALL the different tracks they could have made without all the waypoint and truck garbage!

they claim that they wouldn't save any space without the trucks, buggies, and other bullshit... but if you consider the amount of space they need for all those bullshit truck racing tracks and free-ride areas that suck anyway, i think they could have had a lot more room for sx and national tracks.

It would be so cool if they started releasing nationals that you could download, like replica's maybe? I think someone mentioned this in another thread and it seems like an awesome idea....if its possible.

Also, they gotta fix those toughblocks....or is it just me?

Here are the issures that i have with the game
1. The online issues are worse than Untamed
2. There are way too many tuff blocks on the edge of the track makes it almost impossible to get back on the track
3. When the gate drops half the pack gets taken out in the first turn (almost always)
why not make the rides transparent till after the first turn?
4. Public rooms are set at only 3 laps this makes it almost impossible to make up time because like said before there is always a crash in the first turn
5.What happed to the leaderborad display in the upper left corner of the screen from Untamed this was a good feature why get rid of it?
6. i think you should be able to battle with other riders without it being sooo easy to get knoked down
7. I kinda miss being able to preload bigger (like Unleashed and Untamed)
8.The tracks are way to narrow
9. why not give us a few hints or tips or whatever on how to set the bikes up or does it really matter?
10. Why does the game have to be so damned hard to play i mean i don't want it to be supereasy but come on this not only the hardest game iv'e ever played but it is the most frustrating... lets just make it fun!

Not to be a prick, but where the heck is RBW_Triton? When this game was in production and pre-release/demo mode he was all over this place selling us the game. Now that we have serious issues and questions about our $60 purchase he is nowhere to be found?
