Is there something we can do as a nation to stop this from happening? How did it even start? I don't get it.

I guess because they are too ashamed to say they ride a quad out loud.

Anything with handlebars and a saddle can be referred to as a bike, really. Quad and ATV are such bad names, they were always called ATC's in my family just like the gods at Honda intended.

Because in the world we live in now, it is politically incorrect to call them “Tard-sickles”?! 🤪 👍❗️

A buddy of mine on the lease calls his SXS a bike. I guess it's cause he started with a quad.

What if it identifies as a bike? Did anyone ask? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I don’t get it, the “bi” in bike means two, as in two wheels.

Same people who wear MX boots and pants in their side by side and say they're riding. If it has seat belts, a steering wheel, and body positioning has zero impact on handling, that's driving, not riding. Sorry bros but if your only input in vehicle handling is gas brake and steering ? No leaning or weight shifts ? That's driving. If you want to get technical lol.   Not that driving's a bad thing, and there's lots of talented drivers, but it's not "riding"

The word bike is shorthand for a bicycle or motorcycle.

Bicycle = two wheels.

Tricycle = three wheels.

Quadricycle = four wheels.

That's the only thing I can think of for it to make sense.

Wait a minute....people really wear MX Boots driving their SXS?

How the hell do they bend their ankle to press the pedals?

I think it just has to do with how we do things. Yes we started calling bicycles bikes. Then bikes just became synonymous for anything you ride, kind of like Kleenex became the go word for anything facial tissue. We are a very lazy society, we shorten words all the time. This is just an unintended consequence of how we speak/write/communicate

Never liked quads.  I got a job at HMF Racing where we made exhausts for.....quads. AND sponsored a ton of quad racers in GNCC. Never did hear anyone call a quad a bike.
