I have both, but my choice is the Alpinestar carbon fiber model. My 1st Leatt a sport model cracked in a minor get off a couple of years ago, then I purchased another Leatt the club model & then that cracked also, so I purchased the Astar last year & it has held up really well.! I whould go with the Best.!! ALPINESTARS... It's worth every penny!

Leatt is a real researched and tested product. alpinestars just copied it some what and changed it around a little. leatt has the most effective design element as well. many years of development put into the leatt. alpinestars seen the market copied it jumped in and just $$

I tried the Leatt and ouldn't wear it. I tend to lead with my head going into turns...meaning I lean my head over a good bit. The Leatt restricted that movement too much and made me feel really stiff.

So I got an Alpinestar Bionic, the Carbon Fiber one. It was a good bit better and I wore it for a pretty good while. One day, I forgot it and rode without it and felt a little more comfortable. So it has been sitting in the garage ever since. I am actually trying to sell it. Hate to SPAM, but here is the link to it on MXTrader.net. It needs a good home!!

That is why I ask, I never ridden with an alpine, but tried it at cycle gear. And it felt so free, that it made me wonder if it will protect or not. The leatt is more restrictive, but isnt it the whole idea?

I want to purchase a second one, but Iam not sure which to get...

Does that really matter if the Alpinestars model is more durable?

Alpinestars used cadavers in the testing of theirs so how can you say they didnt do research and just copied Leatt? They had been working on a road race version before Leatt hit the market but changed paths to offroad because there was more of a call for it. Astar has lots of R&D in theres. I had a Leatt first then the BNS and feel the astar is safer but either way any brace is better than no brace

I like the Leatt better just because you can adjust it in different ways.

a perfect post based absolutely only on gossips and "I was told by he said she said". Zero facts.

Many top safety brands had been working on SCI for the last 10 years and more when Leatt released their neck-brace. Alpinestars and 3 others were very close but not happy with the side-effect injuries of the systems at the time.

The A-Stars is a drastically different products than the Leatt apart from appearance.

As frar as research, A-Stars tested on cadavers, which is much closer to reality than computer tests, without the functioning muscles.

Now, if you are looking for the ultimate design, you need to look closer at the Ortema. See the back design...

Let's have you back that up with some facts.

Because that is absolutely not the case.

that ortema stuff looks well thought out and put together (neck brace and knee brace). No US dealers? It appears it is un germany and the UK.

I had the Leatt and didn't like it, it also fell off once much like Dunget's did, hard to keep clean too. I dumped it and bought the Alpinestars one, felt almost the same, was easier to keep clean and take on and off, but didn't like it and came to the conclusion that I don't like neck braces at all.....I tell all my friends if your going to get one, get the alpinestars.
