Up here in the northeast we're pretty accustomed to getting our ski boots punched or molded to our lumpy disgusting feet. My partner is between sizes on Sidi X-Powers, and she prefers a tighter smaller fit. All is well except a little bit of tightness on her right side.
Has anyone had experience heating up and expanding the toebox on moto boots?
I have a local ski shop expand my Gaerne sg12”s for my wide bunion feet..
Why can't everybody just be normal...you know...fit in...conform
.
Back in the day there were cobblers that could work real magic on boots. Rare as hens teeth nowadays.
I came here thinking there was gonna be a video of a guy punching another guy with a boot on his fist while wearing boots
not gonna lie, I’m disappointed
Thanks for the post…was wondering if this could be done. Finally replaced my previous-gen SG12s with the current ones, and they fit well other than the painful tightness on the top of the foot. Definitely shrunk the toe box on the latest version.

It does not work as well as in ski boots, because the liner is integrated into the shell with moto boots, On ski boots the plastic shell and the liner are separate, so you can heat the bejeesus out of the plastic. On moto boots you cannot do this on the inner side, only the outer. Additionally some models use synthetic leathers under / around the plastics, which as susceptible to melting from heat. On the X-Powers (I have a set) the synthetic (Technimicro on Sidi's) is well back from the taper, so you may be OK.
FWIW the grade from one EU size to the next on those is 5mm - one fifth of one inch, not very much. Often putting a thicker footbed in the next size up works well.
If she is on a long ride and they are bothering her, pull the footbeds out. It will feel weird but it will probably fix the pressure on her foot.

Lol! Thought too it was a boot fight
I thought I was about to get my boots washed for free again.
Sorry guys, I'll do better next time
Don't sweat it. Hope you'll find a good shop that customizes the boots for perfect fit.
Does anyone have an idea on home modification? I'd like to refine the fit of my roadrace Sidi's.
