Partial refunds for the 50 kids? I get that they can't get around the track, but doesn't seem right they have to pay full price for not having full experience.

Wrong.  Maybe you guys have the luxury but many don't.  I work for a major corporation and my wife is a nurse.  We were at Loretta's a couple of years back.  If they would have extended it would have been a major issue, especially for my wife.  Nurses really don't have meetings they can just cancel.  Nurses are expected to be there when they say they will be there, if not, the staff is short handed.  Keep in mind, given Loretta's caters to the factory support kids that can show up 2 weeks early, many of us working stiff take off the Thursday or Friday the week before (if not sooner) so we can drive multiple hours just to try and get to the track before all good camping is gone.  So for many of us, we've already scheduled more than a week off of work.  To not show up to work on that Monday after Loretta's can become a real problem for some of us.

Why exactly are your work issues a problem for the event organizers?

If you are going to attend an event like this you should be prepared for unexpected events to cause a delay. If a delay would cause you problems at work then don't go. In fact, why would you even try to qualify?

If everyone had that attitude, the gates would be a lot emptier.

A lot of people can wrangle it if it runs long, but a lot of people can't, and "don't show up then" is a pretty shitty thought process.

Umm the reason there is a schedule is so people can plan around the event they are paying thousands of dollars to attend

I never said it was a problem for the organizers...it's a problem for me.  You obviously don't have a job with real responsibility...if you did, you'd re-think your statement.

I get the partial refund thing, but at the same time no one can control the weather and reading some of the comments about how much rain they've had, it would probably destroy the bikes IF they could even get around. Think of the load it would put on the PW's, the E5's. It completely sucks for them, but I understand it and as a parent would be completely fine with being cut down to just two motos.

I saw someone comment if they were able to get out they would have already left because it's so bad.

There have been so many stupid arguments over the many years vital has hosted discussions, but this one may take the cake.

arguing about whether or not people should or should not stay extra days for an amateur national motocross is absurd.

For one thing, this isn't the first time they have had rain during the week.

It is not the first time they have been behind.

It is not the first time some second motos have been cancelled.

It is the first time I have heard people talking about "partial refunds".

Geez,

Read what you type, and ask yourself

"do I come off as an idiot, or an asshole, and is this argument really one I need to participate in?"

What is the old saying?

Argiung with an idiot is like mud wrestling a pig.

You are going to get all dirty and nasty, and then realize the pig is enjoying it

Moto's to start in 45 min to an hour.

Cutting moto's to 12 min long now.  Going to 7:20P tonight. Site laps tomorrow morning at 615 by bike size.

Change of plan for the 50's, going to try to get their 3rd motos in at the end of the program tomorrow.

Calm down Davey. Refunds or not you are still going to clear a pretty penny and have plenty of walking around money for the rest of the year.

so many people mad that DC makes money off of an event lol Go to lorettas, walk around, the $1,000 in gate and entry fee's is nothing compared to what is spent on gear, motors, rvs, trailers, golf carts.

if you dont think DC should make money off the event, you dont understand business or economics

Most of them are just trying to be "cool"....since the TV debacle last year it has been a status symbol around here to pile on DC.

What's hilarious, is that 99% of the dudes doing it have never put any skin in the game themselves to promote an event or make the sport better....they just get off on shitting on someone who has made it their life's work to promote and grow motocross.

To be fair to DC and co, I think every year the first Loretta's zoomed out picture or drone/helo shot in the broadcast pops up... That whole event has to be a shit tonne of work and you've gotta pay to play.

Still plenty of good local racing if you can't, won't or simply don't want to stretch to Loretta's, but it stands to reason that what is the pinnacle for many is a lil pricey  🙂

I would hardly say expert. In fact I don’t understand how you came to that conclusion because I never said I was an expert and I never said he was making a specific amount. I would bet that the promoter of the largest amateur race of the year on this side of the globe is doing well. It was a joke anyway keep your pants on bud. Davey doesn’t know you or love you I don’t know why you defend him so much. It’s adorable.

Agreed.  I am sure they tell their boss every year to reduce their pay or not have the opportunity to earn more.  Unreal the lack of appreciation.....oh wait....the jealousy here towards DC and most likely anyone else successful.

There's only 2 Kawis in the supermini 2 class. The rest of them are all KTM, Husky, or GasGas.

A bit weird to see. Kawi was the go to bike for years.

No Yamaha's, but that's not surprising.
