That's impressive. Bike looks pretty clapped during regionals and like new low hour now. Do you happen to know what year? I don't have any experience on the last few 125s but I remember the 02s felt severely underpowered compared to a yz.

So there are riders in the 40 and 50 class that have a pro license right now? Don’t think so just because they once had a pro license….what you really want is anybody that has ever raced a pro race stay away from LL’s…I get it but disagree with you…they add to the entertainment and the majority of people watching are because they want to see them…

I’d love to line up against guys like Brown and Emig. It would be sweet to get a picture of them blowing past me as they were lapping me. I’d have it framed, hung in my man cave and tell everyone I got to “battle” them 😂

If you’ve earned money racing, and even more so, had/have a career racing, you are by definition not an amateur.

Let the pros race, I could not care less, just don’t call it an amateur championship

They always do their bike up for Lorettas, fresh plastic, graphics, etc.

I believe it's a 2007 model. He has a couple of them actually.

I’ve earned money racing harescrambles and some local A class motocross stuff years ago. Does that mean I shouldn’t be able to race at Loretta’s? Because I would probably get spanked by a few kids in the 65 class 😂

I know you are just playing but I think the rule is you can race “down” a class from other ama disciplines. A in woods b in Mx for example.

Y'all are so caught up in defending pros it's funny. You literally can't see where I'm coming from, at all?

Honestly, my initial opinion was toward the "sportsman" designation but it sort of morphed into vet wide this year.

I never said made money. I may have said "made a living" or "making a living" a time or two.

If guys want to ride on the same track as them, go to the vet nationals and ride vet A with them, where they should be. No one's racing brown in his current classes because he's admitted hes sandbagging his ass off just to stack titles.

Are any of you still racing? Ever been to Lorettas to race? I'm genuinely curious. I recognize a few posters coming at me for having the opinion that I do, and I feel like it's ok to have the soft spot for your pro buddies that you do. Seems most are defending someone vs their self at this point.

I can promise you that my opinion is actually more popular than most of you want to believe, but it is. Im just the only ahole on here vocal about how silly it is. I've had complete strangers meet me in person and tell me they agreed with this or that that I've posted regarding the subject.

Don, that license argument is silly. Again, once a PRO has built that skillset, it doesn't go away. I don't know what's so hard to understand. They have professional level skills. Period. That license don't mean crap. 15 years ago you could just buy one with a local rep signature. I know guys that bought them just for credentials and never had a shot at making a night show or main.

One more time, I respect and admire alota these past pros. They're legends. I just think that seeing them race 40 hour workin dudes is laughable. I'm glad they like to race and ride still. I admire browns work ethic. I just believe an AMATEUR national isn't the place they should be cherry picking for continued "fame".

+25 Vet Pro. (See, they can still race here)

+30 and up should have no fast 40 guys in it.

I thought it was cool seeing them before but to me its getting old. I have no desire to even try for lorettas but I get the point. I think they should be limited to pro sport and +25. It should get easier as the years go on to see whose who but now I feel like its a little difficult to see who actually raced pro. Always going to have guys try to sneak in. I think something needs done with C classes also. No C rider should be going triple triple in the commandments. These kids hold back year after year for a shot at c class. If you look them up 90% of them have raced the c class over 2 years and have also raced supermini with success. A couple get nailed before and dqed but the majority slip through I've personally witnessed a kid run at the front in supermini race B class then A class then drop down to qualify for C class.

I'm with you. If you've ever made the fast 40 or supercross night show. You should not be allowed in a sportsman class. With the racer X vault. It's really easy to look up.

Most the plus 25 guys are also over 30 years old. They basically get two classes to race. Lots of the same names in both classes.

Seriously though, what a badass showing up to Loretta's 2023 on an '07 CR 125. Especially one that isn't wildly modified and to a young guns class, although showing up on an 80's CR or KX 500 in the old boy's classes is still super cool.

Hope they have an awesome week out there 👍

It's not hatred, but it's something I believe in, in a sport I've been immersed in my entire life, so I post about it, on a moto forum.

I don't post looking for acceptance from dudes who aren't and haven't been anything but fans. I def don't really care what west coast forum moderators or fans think of my opinions. I'm not doing anything thing but creating moto conversation in the appropriate threads. Nothing against forum rules.

Like I said, guys standing up for pros are either a past pro or someone completely irrelevant that will never race a qualifier let alone Lorettas. Comin at me cussin me like Peterson was throwing a temper tantrum cussing MX sports on facebook when they made a rule change before last season (which they changed back because of...... Whiners).

Hoping maybe the powers that be see the light and some of those guys do frequent this spot.

I’d love to line up against guys like Brown and Emig. It would be sweet to get a picture of them blowing past me as they were lapping me. I’d have it framed, hung in my man cave and tell everyone I got to “battle” them 😂

"Ya I put in a hot lap and was keeping up with them. It's just that their fitness is so much better and they can maintain it a whole moto."                                                     I would love to line up against the guys that I cheered for when I was a kid. Has anyone who had to race them or tried qualifying for LL ever came on here to bitch? I would take this more seriously if so

Sorry to clutter this thread with a response. Agree with most of what you’re saying but please take it to the other thread and leave this for the race discussion. Saying that, your point above where you mentioned MXSports “tried” to address this and the ex pros and industry guys whined so much DC caved and changed the rules after the year already started is the one that should be hammered home. Anyhow, carry on…

I have.

Sat on the line at a regional last year with guys who already qualified at previous region. Didn't even have the moral compass to pull off in the last moto. Same guys I'm referring to.

Motos started in 2 minutes. Looking forward to +45, B, ans girls moto. Step daughter of wmx pro Martinez (owner of 2nd hand moto) making her Lorettas debut.

Edited because Louisiana is right. Let’s just enjoy the sport we all love.

I know in today’s society everyone wants to feel like they win an argument(myself too at times), but can y’all all let it go.
