I’ll take your bet (cold beverage of your choosing), I think he’s had some serious time with his family and has nothing left to prove. He should be set financially so why risk a more serious injury. Family is everything!

Tomac doesn’t train in Florida. He’s at home with his family every week and they’re at the majority of the races. Family time doesn’t seem like an issue. He’ll be back.

Or he has realized he still has the desire to race and do it with his family by his side. He might even have memories from his dads racing that he would like to relive with his own kids.  Who knows, this injury may have given him the break he needed to see that he is not ready to be done just yet. I really hope he comes back and makes things harder on Jett. I am a fan of both racers , I see it as a win -win. If Tomac comes back and wins  cool, If Tomac comes back and Jett wins , it gives Jett's wins  some more credibility.

Or the time off was what he needed to decide that he is ready to call it quits . I just don't see him wanting to go out like that.  There are worse ways to call it a career ,  he was leading the points and was on his way to the title when he got hurt . So he could still say he went out on top. If it was me and I felt like I could still win, I would rather go out with a win . But he has won so much already that , it might not matter .  So few guys get to go out on top. RC,Dungey and JMB are the ones I can think of that were winning when they decided to hang it up. That would be another notch in his belt to go out like they did .

I hope he comes back. But if not, I'm glad he can walk away healthy.

Forgot to mention that I am a HUGE Tomac fan and hope I get to see him race again!

Probably too soon for that. He may get on the bike in november which will be enough time for sx prep.

I think he'll be doing WSX next year.  He only has to beat Kenny for the championship and the money will be great for SX only.

I think with Webb, Tomac and Roczen people might start taking the series a bit more serious. Sure they're all vets but their star power is undeniable.
