Does this sound like piston slap, or is this the normal 2 stroke sound? Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

 

I recently rebuilt the top end, 3hours so far. I'm getting paranoid about all noises now! Does this sound normal, or does it sound like piston slap, or some bearing issue? Thanks in advance!

 

Bike is a 2014 KTM 300 XC.

"normal" KTM 2 stroke sound. Had a few over the years and its normal

Well, did you measure piston to bore clearance to size the proper piston ?

Aluminum pipe guard and skid plate may be adding to what you’re hearing. Sounds pretty normal to me.

To tell you the truth, I don't hear anything abnormal in the sound of your bike.

It seems like the big bore bikes make that noise. All the CR500's do.
