Knee protection. I have a heck of a time with knee pads. They are either too bulky or just the knee. I am not graced with calves of a Paris Runway model so when I put the knee pads on, the boot has fitting issues. I can close the boot but it is at the just closed. I have tired the $12 pad/shin guard - they work well but not with all boots. I have some from EVS which work good except they go around my thigh and then slide down or the velcro grabs my pants and start to pull those down. I am open for ideas. What have you found to be the best knee pad that you like?

I use two styrofoam Filet of Fish boxes from McDonald's, attached with duct tape.

Of all the ones that I did try the evs pastranas worked the best for me, just can't have anything on me that is "constricting" or bulky though.

So I don't wear any, though I know I should. Heck, just this post is going to make me try to get used to them again.

Take at look at the Moose M1 pads, they might work for you. They don't look like much in the pictures, but they are thin over the shins and have a molded piece that keeps them from sliding deeper into your boot. They only provide roost deflection, but they will fit under anything and will stay in place. Give them a look.

Same situation for me.

I've had luck with the newer pads from Fox.

I had the same problem with knee pads being to bulky to get my boot to close. So, I have been using kids knee pads. My boot cover enough of my shins, so the kids knee pads cover my knee caps and then go down just far enough to fit into and get my boots to close.

Same here... have always just used shin/knee guards of various types... If I manage to get the last buckle on the Astars closed, it"s often popped open after a couple laps (or miles)...

I love my cti's, but to get the velcro from sticking to your pants, try taping a small piece of tape around the strap.

I found the best pair of knee pads I have ever worn at a skate board shop.

good protection and they do not go too far down onto the shin so that the boot fits well.

Do you take the fish out of the boxes?

Honestly I wear plain Jane regular knee pads from MC Sports. (like for volleyball or soccer) They are only aboout six inches long and about an inch thick at the front and just spandex around the back. The do not go into your boot at all. When you put your boots on they rest on top of the boot and cover my knee perfectly. They stay put and are very comfortable.
