Little reminder we have seen something like Ty Masterpool before in more ways than one. I can't believe the moto media hasn't connected the dots between these two. I've heard Ty compared to Cody Cooper, Gavin Grayck, even Coty Schock. But not the one that really got it done in almost the exact same way, Kyle Regal. Parents owned a training facility in Texas, earned and lost several rides (including Star), and rumors the parents were a factor in his troubles. Then he buys his own bike and has some brilliant rides with a bunch of top 10s and a couple podiums from '09 to '11, including a great ride in the 2010 MXoN finishing 2nd in a moto for PR. After that he seemed to fade pretty quickly except for a short stint in AX where he did win a championship.
I was thinking the same exact thing when the question was asked the other day on Pulp.
Didn’t Stew say on a podcast that Regal worked him at the practice track?
They were teammates on San Manuel so possibly.
Can his dad ring pulp and have a melt down , we could do with some fresh drops

For a week and then not so much a couple weeks later when he roller balled into the first corner trying to get a second one. And pulling a holeshot is a little less impressive than passing factory riders instead of being passed by them.
Regal in 2010 was making plenty of factory riders question their life choices. He was magic on that Honda.
The only other time he tried the full series was in 2012 with JGR Yamaha, where he couldn't get out of his own way.
And that was basically it for his outdoor efforts!

That rings a bell. I’m pretty sure he was talking to Roger about it on his Bubba’s World podcast.
