Hey Mav, thanks for posting all this. This is my first post and super stoked for this years racing should be abit tighter. I’ll be going to Kamloops next weekend. Took my son last year(first race ever) and Dylan gave us his gloves. Would have been sweet if McNabbs deal with phoenix went through to see some racing down south. Maybe Pettis will go down south after his contracts out?

As a Canadian, and a huge SX, MX, and AX fan, I absolutely appreciate all the info Mav puts up for us here on Vital! Thanks Mav!

100% agree. I’ve been reading the forum for years and always looked forward to his post about Canadian motocross

First National I've been to since Antler Lake way back in the Pederson era. Was checking Mav's updates the whole time too, so thanks Mav!

Random brain dump, I am tired so please forgive the writing:

To me, any National in Edmonton should be at the aforementioned Antler Lake- to many if us its as much a part of MX history as Unadilla or Hangtown. Rad Torque/Castrol/whatever the hell they call it now is an okay facility that can and has hosted much bigger events, although it has started getting run down, but it's not the same as that old school track.

The track, well, it was a track. I basically walked all over, inside the oval, yeah, they need to do better. It was actually tough to follow the racing in there from anywhere. From where it went up the oval and out it was all right- some great racing back there and quite a good show, even for a flat piece of ground. It also held up a lot better out there. Seeing how fast they hit those rollers after the big double up close was pretty eye opening. The off camber around the backside of the oval was pure evil- but it did do a great job separating the fast guys from the rest. It was REALLY steep and rutted all to hell. The fast guys kept it high, the slower guys went around the perimeter at the bottom.

As for the riders, must confess to not following CDN MX anywhere near as close as I used to, so I have no idea who half of them are. Pettis was obviously getting some great starts as that's who was charging over the hill out of the oval in the lead every time. Wright's corner speed was something else. He was leaned over almost flat railing the berm before the big double, really impressive. Watching those two, everyone else was pretty clearly racing for third. Making guys who make me wonder what the hell I'm doing on a motocross bike look slow.

Really good atmosphere out there on the other side of the wall, too. Nice and laid back, it was where the real MX fans were at for the most part. I had a great time and will go back next year.

If someone is going to head South, it's going to be McNabb, and/or Piccolo.

I'd love for Pettis to give SX another shot.

I feel like Piccolo would do well in the states too. This year would have been a good one for Dylan to really dip his feet into the American series. Thankful that we have him up North though for the Canadian series

Dylan is supposed to race the last two AMA rounds. I believe Piccolo is as well. We'll see how bad his injury is, but hopefully, he's not out for too long. The series needs him.

Man that would be great, and Dylan got his knees fixed too which will help too. Hopefully Piccolo heals up fast

Rough start to the series for two title contenders in Piccolo and Harrison. Was both DNFs for Harrison the same issue? Seemed like he was the fastest guy on the track in moto 2, gonna be tough to climb outta that hole

Yeah, it's going to be tough to climb out of that hole. Both guys are now 50 points behind, and there are 7 rounds left.

Not sure if you were watching, but Harrison's bike blew up, and they had to make an engine swap after qualifying. They tried to make it to the line in time but missed the deadline. He switched bikes, but again, since he missed the deadline, he wasn't allowed to start.

Moto 3 They couldn't get his bike started. They tried to bump start it several times, but it wasn't firing up.

Like a couple of other people have said, thanks Mav for the constant updates. I remember wondering who you were doing this for 2-3 years ago when I first started reading vitals, and now I'm one of the member who reads every page of every round haha.

Thanks Mav! I got off my ass and raced the 125 class . Or at least 3/4 of the first moto. Larry loop out crash. I actually quite liked the track. And I'm 54.

Track was garbage.
Beat Tyler up pretty good running a bike that had virtually no break in time on it.
