I found an 06 KTM450SX for $3300.00. (I loved my 05 525) I have an 05 RM250 that a guy I work with would like to buy for $3000.00. I love my 2 stroke and would like to keep it but I need both and can't quite swing it. So do I give up the RM or keep it?

Give it up, seems like 300 is decent to pay to get a newer and better bike. It all depends on shat shape the bikes are in though.

I am anal retentive about taking care of my bikes so the RM is perfect (mechanically) It's all fresh with lots of goodies. (no bling just useful stuff) I talked to the guy with the KTM last night and he gave me the story on it. He seemed like he is picky like me and seemed to know his stuff. The KTM looks great in the pics too. Although it is bone stock. It even has the stock silencer on it. So I will spend about $1500 bucks to get it where it needs to be between a silencer, suspension work and a few other mods.

That's what I was thinking too. What are you going to spend $1500 on? Aftermarket silencer will look, sound, and make more ponies but will you be using all the bike has without it? I would use that dough for suspension and tires.

I would keep the RM 250. I had an 07 and it was great 03-08 are about the same. I know here in AZ you can get an 08 crf 450 out the door for under 5k so I would not buy the used KTM for 3300. Heck, I just sold my 08 505 for that price. THere are better deals out there, but I would keep smoking.... I just got an 08 250 SX for 3300

KEEP THE SUZUKI!!!!!!!!!!!! The 2 stroke is where your heart is...DO NOT fool yourself. Buy a new graphics package, some plastics( if needed), give her a little facelift...........you will fall in love all over again!

The 1500 was slated for suspension work and an FMF Q silencer, carb mods and misc protective pieces. I think I'll just keep the RM. It's in perfect shape and is so much fun to ride. I will wait until I can swing a new bike while keeping the RM. Thanks guys.

If you can sell an 05 anything for 3g's, do it, but sit on the money get one of the newer SXF's. I believe the 06 is the older rfs engine (which is not bad -- love mine -- but you may as well go with the newer rf4 engine).

The RM's a great bike, but so are a lot of others. It's all about what you want.

I really need both to be happy. This is exactly how I ended up with 8 motorcycles at one time before I got divorced. I went from 8 to 0 and am now back to just the one. (The bikes were completely unrelated to the divorce)

Last time I wanted to sell my four stroke it was about to blow up. $2,000.00 later I still have it. It is now the back up bike.

I'd keep the Zuke unless you're a hard core racer and need more power - especially if your RM is really cherry.

You Suzuki guys are like that, aren't you? I see Racer92s bike and it's so nice looking that it's offensive to get it dirty. Then my bike is sitting there with rust on the pipe, spooge dripping out of the silencer, a dirty air filter...

If you're having difficulty affording both then keep the zuk. It'll cost you less in the long run.
