Myles Monty secures French GP EMX125 wildcard

There will be a young American rider in the MXGP paddock this weekend as Myles Monty has secured a wildcard EMX125 entry to race against a deep field of talent.

Belgian based team, F4E GasGas Racing have decided to give the young American a bike in France this weekend that will see him under the awning with Maximilian Ernecker, Ian Ampoorter and Harry Seel.

Monty is a 15 year old from Vista, California, and began racing at four years old and has competed at Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross National five times, beginning on a PW50 and last competing on an 85cc. He had the opportunity to compete in the KTM SX Challenge exhibition race and battled for a second place finish in one of the closest races the event has ever had.

Currently, Monty is competing in the US in the 125cc and 250F classes at local and amateur national events. Outside of racing, Monty is a full time high school student and maintains a training schedule that includes mountain biking, cycling, and strength training to continue building stamina, strength, and control on the bike.

Not this weekend, but for Kegums, Devin Simonson is going to be riding with SM Action KTM in MX2 - he revealed it on Matthes' PulpMX SLC after race podcast interviews.

I hope it works out for him. 

He's doing the rest of the series. Going to be tough.

It's one of his first year on the 250. He is really fast on one lap (hap the pole 3 time ahead of Bonacorsi this year) and got a lot of style. Potential top 5 for the day here.

Downhill was really tricky, was really surprised they didnt do anything about it because EMX125 had lots of crashes there. Sascha Coenen went down even harder

Forato passing Herlings on that  downhill was something to see. Let's see if he can hold  JH off.
