Gun reform should be forward-looking. We’re not advocating waltzing into citizens homes and confiscating their firearms; just add a few parameters nationally to make acquiring weapons a bit more responsible.
New drivers undergo 40 hours of behind-the-wheel training and numerous hours of on-line study to secure a drivers license. Yet an 18 year old can stroll into a gun store and purchase any weapon? No license, no training? At least we can start there.
I would argue that most people who commit murder, mass or single, do not suffer from acute mental illness, but general psychosis in regards to guns, murder, and righteous glory. We've all seen comments like "I cant wait til the shooting starts" especially recently with the Title 42 fallout that's being pushed. 2 in 5 female murder victims were killed by an intimate partner. It’s a slippery slope. Look at how things are going in Canada. The current government here won’t be happy until no one but the government can have a gun. That includes hunters.

My statement was not about gun related deaths. It was about the slow volunteering of restrictive measures that snowball out of control. I don’t follow the stats on gun related deaths in the US. I’d be happy to have a look if you want to post. I can only tell you that CDN gun restrictions have done little to reduce deaths. We don’t have very many gun deaths by legal gun owners here. It’s majority criminals and illegal guns.

He was being very resistant. Judge ordered blood test for drugs and alcohol. They couldn’t fingerprint him yet because he’s being somewhat combative. He is being charged with manslaughter. Not sure if this will get much national coverage as it was a hispanic male who ran over hispanic migrants. They have not tied him to white supremacy yet.

My grandmother was killed by a DWI in 1970, so I understand, but to tax everyone who doesn't drink the same as those who do is unfair.
