Would the forks be in the rear?

It would suck.

To answer your question, I wouldn't get one. The big five bikes are so good, it would be almost impossible to throw your hat in the ring with them now.

I sold my two Harley MX250's to get some money together to buy my Mugen quite a few years back. Pretty amazing some of the neat ideas and trick parts that must have mistakenly got thrown in the mix of those big piles of shit. That said, I wished I would have kept them and restored at least one of them. Neat pieces of moto history and cool to look at. Can't say I'd want to race one . There is one here in Texas that occasionally hits the track though

Will it come with tassles on the ends of the handlebars? Leak oil? Vibrate badly?

The Fatboy 450f and the Sportster 250F(for chicks only because real men only ride the big bike)

The Dirt Rod™ would be expensive, lots of plastic chrome, an old cheap worm drive clamp to hold the exhaust together, the stock grips would be huge, smooth and rock hard, you would have to wear a matt black helmet.

Every magazine ad would over use "™". You would walk into the showroom and the coolest guy you've ever met would soon be your best buddy and urging you to join in the next ride. There would be overpriced apparel and an annual get together of the owners where bare breasted girls would ride on the back of old bearded guys' bikes.

"Dirt Rod™ ... When a man has whoops to conquer and berms to rail, he needs a legend, a Metal Masterpiece™"

It would be nice if they came out with one. America should have the tech to do it. Why do the japs have it and we don't?

I think what he meant to say is that IF it was on par with the big 5 ....... would you buy one?

Its a big assumption but IF they made it happen and the bike was good, what would stopo any of you from buying one?

IF it was on par with the big 4 I wouldn't be opposed to giving it a try.

This is a better question.

But my answer is the same. It's about branding and what harley is and stands for isn't the same as let's say Yamaha or Kawasaki. That would be a big challange to overcome even if they had a good bike.

I picture the harley mxer of a dude with long hair, bad tatoos and a topless (toothless) chick on the back rolling the doubles ...

Seth Enslow made one to jump a world record (he jumped 137 feet to be exact). Looks cool actually... But I would not race one for sure!

With Harley purging their boutique brands, I don't see much reason for them expanding beyond their core business.

It was going to happen not very long ago...ask Ozzy on here about it, though I'm sure he can't say anything.

We could all band together and protest in Ohio for the AMA to let us race without helmets.

Yeah, but back then was before the current economic climate.

I 'spose the question I'd be most interested to find out was where the engine and chassis were going to be manufactured. Smile

If Harley made a MX bike.......... they would somehow convince the AMA to change mx tracks to flat dirt ovals so that their bike would have a chance
