That's because Prado jumped on the waved yellow flag (rider in front of Fernandez, who's wearing the GoPro), and should have been docked 2 places... But the FIM didn't penalise him

Would have given Renaux the moto win and overall...

Can anyone explain how Weckman crashed like he did? Cause I don't think I've ever been more confused by a crash.. He ended up crutch first between the wheel and rear guard didn't he?

Jeez that looks scary. The rear tire must have pulled his body under the fender.

A trip to the berry farm as Malin would say.

Looked like he was too far back and the rear fender gave out and he got sucked in. Thankfully for Emil, MXGP has the rule on front and back protection. If that was an ama national rider, he wouldnt have anything and would have been destroyed by that tire.

I am interested in how Liam progresses from here. I'm not a huge fan, but it seems like he finds a new level for himself and doesnt really regress much. I think we could see him on the podium a few more times throughout the year.

He’s not a spectacular rider, but you can see little signs of balance and feets on the pegs here and there. He doesn’t give up much time to De Wolf, who looks balls to the walls fast, over a lap. He is fast in a deceiving way.
Give him a bit more time and confidence and good starts( he will thanks to small stature and strong bike) and he will be podium more often than not.
I think he will keep the family tradition and become world champion in two years.

Aaah I didn't realise he was so far off the back when he got sucked in by the tyre.. That makes more sense! Thanks

It is beyond me why the NPG or Feld does not require full front and back protection for their racers like MXGP does.

All the AMA wants to see during tech is that you have your "AMA Pro Racing" patches on your jersey and that you have a "Hats Off" device installed in your helmet. (the hats off is a worthless device anymore because of magnetic or quick release cheek pads in most new helmets).

There needs to be some rule changes to keep up with upper body protection before a rider gets his kidneys destroyed with a foot peg through his back.

Haha Malin said at one stage "Liam is just doing what he's doing up on the pegs and seemingly unflustered by what's going on behind him" and I was like well yeah he's an Everts Paul haha

Hahahaha classic. It's actually scary seeing Liam like that, makes me wonder if he will be just like his dad.

Stationary yellow flag displayed.
Danger ahead: riders must ride cautiously.

Waved yellow flag displayed.
Great danger ahead: riders must significantly reduce speed and be prepared to stop. They cannot overtake any other riders and should not attempt any jumps.

9.    The non-respect by a rider (riders) of the waved yellow and/or the medical flag and/or the green flag will be sanctioned as follows:
a)    First offence during an event: loss of 2 positions in the respective practice/race (positions and points corresponding to the new position in case of a race awarding points);
