I appreciate what you do, ML. You do seem to be a lot more open and “just the facts” than most.

I think MLs doing a good job also, I personally wish he would do a little more moderating on the forum and get rid of the trolls and other who just want to argue and complain but I also understand that he has a lot going on and their are much more important things to use his time for during the season. Maybe another moderator to help with the work load on the forum but its still the best MX forum.

Maybe “like a good boy” is unwarranted. The fact that an agent/team/rider/promoter or whoever CAN and WILL tell the members of the media not to ask about something that took place on the track and the media will blindly follow that request is a complete joke. It’s a terrible look for the people demanding/requesting no questions about something - that in reality was not a big deal and even looks worse on the people who abide and fulfill those wishes, which in this case is the media. It portrays dishonest work and makes it also look like the majority of you in the media are more concerned about remaining friends with these idiots who tell you how to do your job. It’s not a good look. It’s also scary that some of these same media nuts promote and “test” products for companies also. I don’t suspect it’ll change and everyone will fall in line by Saturday morning and everyone can go back to asking the same two questions verbatim: “How was your night?” and “If you can tell us, what changes did you guys make from last week or even throughout the day for such a good result in the main”

Might be able to put my socks back on when counting yearly Suzuki sales after they take this PR hit.

Every press conference is effectively those two questions followed by word salad consisting of "flow," "rhythim," and "hitting my marks."

This is literally the most exciting motorsport in the world, but you'd think it was curling with how boring the interviews are.

orrrrrrrrrrrr....

How do you respond to critics that wonder what's going on when you go from winning Daytona to making no forward movement in the next race and ending 8th?

You've had a historical issue of sometimes just randomly having REALLY bad races....is that because of the bike or is it just that when you're not feeling it, you're not feeling it?

Do you feel like you were out of sync and just decided to salvage whatever points you could?

How do you respond to people that wonder why one weekend you drop the hammer and can put 2s on everyone, and then the next weekend you're rolling the whoops?

See how we could get actual answers to actual questions instead of just allowing what you described? That's how the media normally tries to work.

I get that a rider might not want to dwell on a bad performance, but welcome to being a professional athlete.

I hate to say this but there’s a lot of riders that shut down when you go straight in like that. They dance around it and won’t answer. Gotta ease into or find a way to mix it into other questions. Also, I’m not attending Detroit, Lewis is.

i truly don't mean to beat a dead horse, but the reason they "dance around and won't answer" is because they're allowed to. A pool of reporters hammering the same topic/question would FORCE an answer or he'd just have to get up and walk out. I know this is is one of those "this is how it's always been" things, but the moto-media has fascinated me (not in a good way) because of how it's not actually MEDIA...it's public relations. But I digress.

It happens outside of moto too. Have you ever watched a post game interview with Bill Belichick?

oh wow. didn't realize this was sent to the dumbgeon. Interesting as it's a highly relevant topic in our sport. Guess our overlords got some heat for continuing the convo.

No heat, just beating a dead horse. And Lewis did a great job with his interview for us. As I mentioned prior in this thread, delivery and timing is everything. That kind of response wouldn't have been had after the race last weekend.

What did you guys think of Steve saying he was blackballed by the Lawrence’s for criticizing this?

They talked about it for a bit in the latest Pulp show and he mentioned it in passing the review pod.

I think mirtl is getting a big head. I think if you hold onto something too tight (law bros carefully constructed image) you stand to lose it.

Can't wait to see how hunter handles the outdoors this year. I think he will make some questionable moves and get big mad when the favor is returned.

It's funny how some of you think moto journalists are different than any other.

Ever watch F1? Sure, they may let you ask anything, but you won't learn shit from the answers.

NASCAR, same.

I'm not sure what people are really expecting.
