My ole lady will lock her car, but I leave the keys in mine..Every time I come back from a trip that damn Porsche is still there, sitting in the driveway with the keys in it..

If I'm going to be gone longer than a few days, I'll shut the gas off on all the bikes.

I try to make an effort to shut the windows in the camper, but damn near always forget!

I'm mister safety!!!
If I locked my shop I wouldn't be able to get in it. Haven't locked it since I built it and have no idea where i put the key.Smile

lol Tiki that's funny.. On the side of my house we keep a recycle can and we fill it w/beer and soda cans. Not that I cared that much but the cans were disapearing about every two weeks. Well about 6 months agoI caught two teekers stealing the cans. I was watching them do it from my window and I walked out side w/my gun and their hands were too full to run. They were shaking like crazy when they saw me(i'm not sure if it was fear or the drugs). I handed them a couple garbage bags to fill up with the cans and told them I'd give them to them this time but if I ever see them again the gun just might go off. Fuckin tweekers will risk their lives for $5 worth of cans.

Chain everything to everything else. I gotta put some bolts in the floor now that I'm not renting. Take the wheels off. Usually unplug and unscrew the spark plug cap.

My latest anit-theft device is a siezed engine. Pretty hard to get an 800lb honda pilot out of my garage with no engine.

The only reason I lock the garage door is so the repo man doesn't get it ; ]

I cable lock all of my bikes together.
If they take one, they're going to have to take them all.

My shop is locked up big time!! I NEVER leave it unlocked, EVER... I have locks everywhere.. I just can't take the chance.. The shop pays the bills..

However, My house, garage, camper, cars, trucks, van, bikes, boats... Nothing gets locked up... I do have someone watch my stuff for me though and they are well armed..Smile

My house and shop are next door to each other, but I only lock the shop.

Like you, I have no clue where the keys are to my house and garage....

What I do is lock everything up as you do. Then I call the person staying at my house watching everything and interrogate them every hour on the hour asking them if everything is ok! I drive home as fast as I can to make sure there not lying to me and worry my whole trip wondering if everything is really ok! Get home everythings ok and tell myself next time I am not going to worry. And then the next time I worry about not being worried and I start the whole process over again.

I worry more about my '79 KX250 A5 more than the others. That would be hard to replace...

My homeowners covers my bikes, but like mt798, I would be bummed if thieves got my '82 RM250.

We live in a really safe, quiet city. Nothing ever happens here. I have the garage door windows covered so nobody can see what's inside, but that's it.

When I go out of town, I pack up the truck with my bike and my dog and all the necessary provisions....and chain my wife to the garage floor with a weeks worth of laundry! Never had a break-in yet!

Farmers. When I got my policy I asked my agent to include my bikes because I had a '87 CR500 stolen from my parents garage back in the day. He told me they were already covered but I didn't believe him until he showed me the line item and sure enough any any motorized item that isn't registered for the road, including dirt bikes, is covered under my homeowners policy. This is what you want to look for on your policy.
