any moto industry MTB kits out there? It seems like that stuff is hard to come by and rarely for sale. Options are either generic cycle industry livery's, solid colors or go full bro baggies and flats. Kinda cool how exclusive some of the jerseys are though, kinda like the moto days of riding out of your local shop

I really like the TLD and Fox stuff. The TLD sprint & spring ultra stuff is really nice. My favorite pants are raceface by a mile though.

Check out hotshoppe designs, when I used to run the TLD bike division, I needed some team KTM TLD lycra kits made for the boys, he whipped out a few that looked just like the team kit.

A lot of the gear companies have discovered the cash cow that is cycling.  Road kits are hard to find but for MTB you have TLD, Fox, FXR, Fasthouse, Fly, Thor, 100%, Oakley, etc.

Leatt has MTB stuff, Alpinestars , Moose .  It seems like just about every MX gear company has MTB stuff. I think that O'neal has MTB stuff too. They were involved in bicycles years ago, so I'm sure they have some stuff.

I, for one, will be happy when the trend of referring to riding gear as a "kit" passes.

lots of companies like canvas in the cycling industry that do custom sublimation but it can be a bit pricy if just getting one kit for yourself.

In motocross, of course its gear but what do you call a cycling bib and jersey? Gear?

I'm aware that all the moto companies offer casual and downhill cycling shorts and jerseys but nothing in regards to bibs and jerseys which most of you guys assume is for road only. When's the last time you've seen a pro motocross guys cross training with baggy shorts and a long sleeve moto jersey?

You won't find any moto companies making lycra stuff except for 100%. Also moto guys almost exclusively train on road bikes, the rare times they are on a mtb they are on an XC bike. Your initial question kind of naturally led to baggies, at least that's what I thought...

Yes. That's what it is: bicycle riding gear.  It's not a first aid kit, or a tire repair kit, or any other sort of kit. It's gear. It's been "gear" for decades. The only upside to this trend is that allows me to say "Dude, that's a lit kit" to someone with cool riding gear.  And yes, I learned that from watching Buttery, the Jeff Spicoli of dirt biking.

Fox made some labeled as XC a few years ago but stopped. I got some of the last sets on close out and the material is terrible. Only 100% I know of and then there is some mx associated brands that crossover have kits like Arma and Hammer nutrition.

I actually bought one of these a few years back on Ebay. It's one of my favourites!

Yeah if you're talking about traditional bibs and zip up jersey you won't find that with moto gear brands, going to have to stick to the cycling industry or custom.

"Baggy" gear has come a long way from cutoff moto pants and long sleeve jerseys. They make some xc/trail oriented stuff that is tighter fitting with lightweight stretch materials and good venting, the latter being a must in Texas.  FXR Helium, for example.  I used to only wear spandex even on dirt but these days I'd feel kinda silly at my local trail kitted-up in full team race gear.

Thor, Moose, Astars, and 100% all have stuff that I’ve tried.  The 100% stuff is super nice.  6D makes a MTB helmet too that I’ve been running and it’s killer.  I tried a 100% and it didn’t fit me that great and the astars one is nice too and a bit lighter than the 6D.  I did like the 100% full face but my buddy crashed and broke his helmet so I sold him the one I bought and never really got to wear it much.

Growing up outside the US (South Africa and the UK), 'kit' was used almost exclusively for most sporting gear, for example "soccer kit".

Outside of the hardcore XC guys grinding on a hard tail...I just can't get behind the full spandex look for MTB.

Like someone else mentioned, most gear brands in MTB now have offerings that are traditional shorts/pants/jerseys style but with a tighter fit and full stretch materials. I think it's the perfect mix between the two styles.

I’ve got two sets of 100% Exceeda bibs and jerseys.

quality is great, the pad is good but not Castelli or ALE good.
Fit was inconsistent- my two jerseys are different sizes.D9C97E04-20B2-458A-B015-79EE2212DBB7

The 100% Exceeda track mitts are great for the summer.

Soldiers go to combat in “full kit”

Before it was gear it was leathers…just sayin. I still call it gear, just giving the devil his due.

Ride for your local shop. Wear their kit, get a discount on everything. Hopefully their kits aren’t hideous. Remember, a helmet with a visor can only be worn with baggie shorts.

I believe the reason they train on road bikes is that it is easier to control their heart rate or wattage effort then with a mountain bike on trails.
