If I remember correctly, wasnt it like a 80/20, 70/30 split amongst the members of this board AGAINST James going to the MXDN because he didnt ride the nationals? Now that he's NOT going, he's catching hell from alot of the same people who said he shouldnt go! Kindov a hypocritical ya think? Also, ALL of you asked for him not to go, so he isnt, you got what you wanted. So lay off the guy!

No use trying to defend Stewart from these animals Dude! Just wait, if we lose it'll all be his fault. If we win it'll go away, the animals will be fed. Either way, don't put your hand in the cage...

I would not be one of those people that said he should'nt go because he didn't ride the nats. I've always thought the best 3 healthy riders should go regardless of this or that. James was one of my favorite riders of all time before he signed w/L&M sx only. I'm a motocross fan that thinks SX is just a side show to get us threw the winter. Every time a top rider steps out of the Nats it takes away from them and jeopardizes the future value of the series.

I think everyone fan of the sport wants to see him racing over there.
(If they don't - then they have a screw loose)
Also I'm sure the Foreign fans feel a bit let down he is not racing this event.

IMO: James has raced the event twice and had a bit of bad luck each time.
Even though he wont come out and say it...I do not think he is very fond of the event.
I think if James had to choose between preparing for the USOPEN or racing this event,he would choose to prepare for the USOPEN .I think him saying he did not earn/deserve a spot on the team is a cop-out

Fan decline and feedback may be based on the following:

Left kawasaki after they brought him up....

SX only.......

Routinely turns down ridng for Team USA at the MXDN(only 1 appearance thus far)....

Least racingist motosuperstar of all time............."The LERMOAT"

Jumping on people........(racing less seems to have fixed this)

Only one appearance? How about both of the recent trips to the UK? Matterley Basin and Donington Park?

Remember when he caught hell for "riding for the team" as Everts rode away from him? I'm sure James does. There's definitely some positives to him going, but I'm sure there are an equal number of negatives in his mind.

Its funny it just goes to show that no one has any faith in the US team selection!!LOL And those 3guys are high paid factory riders so if they lose then the blame should be on them,NOT JS1..LOL

If that's the case then what you are saying is that the outdoors can't make it with out the gimmicky superstars.

Things evolve so either evolve yourself or get left behind to be some bitter fan that has no clue about how supercross has been good for the sport.

This is definitely true. James has admitted that he hasn't tested for outdoors all year and it wouldn't be in the best interest of the team. What else needs to be said. Say he was the U.S. MX1 rider. He would have to be on his A game to beat a guy like Cairoli. Without a doubt these guys we don't see here in the U.S. are fast as well.

Do you honestly believe that James couldn't go out there right now straight off the couch and hand Ryan Dungey his ass?

Possibly and he could also bust his ass trying.

You seem like a smart guy so I would think you would understand how nothing replaces seat time. With out that time in the seat you lose rhythm and timing and when you go as fast as James (or any pro level rider) that can be disaster waiting to happen.

I'd never sell Dungey short either. A couple years back I thought that Stewart may have something for Everts. Maybe that day allows Stewart to make a clear decision about this year and how prepared he may be. Maybe.

There you have it. You have well and truly hit the nail on the head.

No amount of hours in the gym or cycling can replace seat time on your motocross bike.

I think Dungey would clean Stewarts clock if they raced eachother tomorrow.

At the end of the day Dungey's in Italy representing his country as the fastest choice in MX1 and Stewart's giving the fashion industry a go by making rip off's of RUN DMC tshirts. Won't be long until he's an aspiring actor living in hollywood.

He may or may not but what you are leaving out is that Stewart could bust his ass trying because of "Lack Of Seat Time".

James made it very clear that if he rode even one national he would ride the MXON, otherwise he would not ride and take a spot from a deserving rider who did ride the nationals. Period.

Based on that he should get some respect - it' pretty honourable that he is respecting his fellow racers.

I agree he should be the 1st guy on the team but given his decision, I think it's great that other guys are getting a chance to shine.

Nice pointless assumption you created. If James had ever wanted to race the MXdN, he certainly had the time and resources to get all the seat time he needed.
