This crap happens all the time on the track....and again, they show Barcia because it gets people riled up.

Give me a break.

I'd have to watch again but I'm not even sure he tapped Nichols, they may not even have touched.

Is he on probation from last years incident with Malcolm? or is it all in the rear view?

If anything, they only bumped elbows.   RC was making a big deal about it too....he was WAY off.

People are just looking for any excuse to attack Barcia, there is all this outrage over nothing here.

Barcia has mastered the craft of "legal takeouts" he puts his bike where he wants runs the fineline of "over aggression" without going over the top 90% of the time.

Not necessary when youre doing it to guys youre coming through anyway. Shows poor planning or psychopathy or both. To use one of rickys favorite sayings, none of his competitors would bother to piss on him if he was fire.

I think he is also pretty good at not putting himself in a vulnerable position when others are passing him.

Regardless, some consistency with the “overly aggressive riding” penalties would be nice.

I’m the first person to bag on Barcia but nothing he did this weekend was overly aggressive.

I like how you state you don’t like him first and then defend him.

That way people know that you are ok.

I was pissed that Barcia went so deep on AC, but I also thought to myself that after that maybe AC decides to start putting up some fight. Riding so conservatively put himself in that position IMO.

Nor did Tripes and Falta play demolition derby with each other at the original,  superbowl of motocross.

I’m not a bam bam fan at all but AC was riding like a scared lil bitch in that race, he had it coming one way or another. Where’s all the rage on Mcadoo? he literally did the exact same thing to Pierce Brown, and he fell a lot harder

I bet Barcia is wishing Vince Freze was around to take some heat off him. Where is Vince these days?

Torn Achilles.

maybe at the next presser, ML could straight up ask the podium guys "So, what do ya'll think of Barcia's riding and should he be on probation?"

Odds that will happen? yes, I know the answer.

I just thought that the take out of AC was a bit much.   I have been a fan of Barcia's . He used to come to NESC races at Southwick  back when I was racing ,so I've always thought of him as a localish racer. I think it would be better if he was not taking people out often. There are sometimes when rough riding  can be fun to watch and exciting. But only when its 2 racers that like to race eachother like that , or that are racing each other like that.

I was watching some old races with RC and how he would brake check or pass people so they  couldn't hit a tipple and then he would get a gap and start to pull away.  And then comparing it to how Eli and Kenny like to race cleanly and how much longer the battles last when they race that way.I only list those 2 since they are 2 racers that have been vocal about how they like to race cleanly.  As a viewer , I think clean  racing is more exciting and  keeps a battle lasting longer most of the time. I do not remember RC taking riders out often , but there were way less cameras around and less coverage so maybe I just do not remember it.

I feel like when a racer is clearly faster than the other guy , the best way to prove it is to race clean so you beat them on speed and not by putting them on the ground.  If you need to take out somebody to beat them , than you are not faster.  Not saying that this applies to any racer specifically .That is just my opinion. If somebody is blocking you for a while when you are clearly faster , but they are just blocking and cross jumping, etc. I could understand the want to knock them down while passing.  And that bothers me less than take outs for no reason.

I know AC was putting up a little more fight with Barcai than he has been recently. But he went so wide and did everything but wave him by. The move on AC just seemed  unnecessary . Especially with how Adam has put it out there that he's just trying to ride and do all the laps.

What racers from back in the 90's and 00's had a rep like Friese or Barcia  or for taking people out?  I remember  brake checking, and taking riders wide. But not a ton of times that there were take outs. But I've had a few good whacks to the head and that was a while ago.

They've all taken people down, but none of them made it a habit.

Yeah, key word "some". Of course you can find clips of anybody making a few dirty moves, even Dungey. But they're the exception, not the rule. With Barcia, it's genuinely surprising if he passes somebody without running them as high as he possibly can, or just straight up hitting them.

The only thing the AMA are consistent on is being inconsistent.

The fact that Anderson had put Barcia on the ground to races in a row had something to do with him being on probation.  Clearly there was a complaint from the gas gas team.

2/21/2023 8:44am

JB sits in 6th or 7th overall eh? And who is out currently that would have been in the top 5 usually, it's missing 3 top 5 overall riders right? Marvin, Malcom and Ferrandis? correct?

BamBam was on probation before SLC.  Perfect example of just how ineffective putting a rider on probation has been for the last two seasons.
