I know, I know... This topic has been beaten to death. This one really confused me though!
I understand that title sponsorship of a Formula 1 team brings a lot, but a logo like this one?
Something as small as that makes me think that these companies don't understand what we have.

I know that a team spoke to OnlyFans about complete title sponsorship (truck wrap, the lot) and they were amazed at the price.
That wouldn't have come about without Logan's stuff, so it's like we need to give these companies a free trial to educate!
I have no actual knowledge of how these deals work, but I would guess that smaller logo on the Haas car isn't too far off a title sponsorship for a satellite team in SX/MX as far as dollars go?
The logo is tiny but I would imagine that there is some bang for the buck with the placement. Every time the driver gets out of the car or a close up of the cockpit it's right in your face.
Chipotle probably already gets enough free publicity from SX because every rider talks about how often they go. lol
How about we keep the porn out of our "family" sport.
The Shop

Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts

That is a good point... Maybe I don't know enough about Formula 1 to really compare. It pops nicely against the white too.
I just feel like a helmet wrap (for example) and the ability to give out gift cards to fans each week would be a better return.
But nobody pays attention to the last place guy getting in and out of his car.
Also, Chipotle is probably looking to grow their Euro market. F1 and Soccer would be their best ROI.
I just asked a source in that world and they said that is a multi-million dollar deal, probably around four to five.
Yikes.
I would imagine sponsoring a formula 1 team was done to drive more international brand recognition. It would be cool though to have food companies join our sport instead of just energy drinks
Wow that's even more than I would have guessed. There's your answer then?
I originally asked, "More than 500k?" I think I made myself look like a fool with that question, haha.
I think some of you guys are grossly underestimating the number of eyes on Formula 1 compared to SX/MX. Not really in the same league at all.
Way more bang for the buck with F1 and with the "drive to survive" series it has increased F1s popularity 20x over.
^^^^THIS 100%
No comparison. Maverick would probably attest to this.
It is easier to get in the “room” as an F1 team than it is for a SMX team…A 31 race series with playoff style races will help though…As someone said above Chipotle is trying to expand their footprint worldwide.
that's umm... that's not their title sponsor?
& are you seriously comparing F1 to SX?
That is funny and would be somewhat true if not for "Drive to Survive."
Also, you have to factor in that the logo will have TV exposure across three days; practice Friday, qualifying Saturday, racing Sunday. And your logo will definitely be in the race on Sunday. It’s a Haas so it’ll probably be toward the back (lol) but it’ll be in the race, nonetheless. No way for the car to miss the main event like a rider could in SX.
Pit Row
To answer your question in your thread title, its because SX is small potatoes compired to F1 . When Circuit of America's sells over 300K tickets and sells out and is expanding so they can sell more that is where you should spend your advertising dollars.
Honestly, I would think someone at Chipotle is just a F1 fan themselves and pushed for it. Yeah company's look at data, ROI, impressions, blah blah blah, but at the end of the day some person in an office just needs to make a decision and they typically follow what they themselves know best and sometimes that's as simple as which sport they enjoy watching most.
I didn't say that it was their title sponsor? I said that I understand that title sponsorship of a Formula 1 team is incomparable.
However, a logo as small as that may be comparable to what this sport could offer. That was the "but" in the post you quoted.
FOR REAL. SX is slightly less redneck than nascar with even less space for visible logo placement, and even less views. F1 has a massive worldwide audience and the cars are a rolling billboard with tons of screen time.
Yes is real.
Speaking of which, the new season of "Drive to Survive" is about a week away Feb 24th
There's a ton of additional benefits that come with sponsoring an F1 team like access at the track to do business etc... F1 is in a different stratosphere to SX. You have the possibility of VIP treatment and access to 23 Grand Prix a year. It's a good way to get around the globe and do business.
You sponsor a team in SX sure, but you could do a LOT of things with that money other than SX.
I think that the OnlyFans reference was only to show that there is a lot of bang for the buck in mto sponsorship. And that more big brands might be open to a MX/SX sponsorship if they knew what the return on their investment was. Not that we should have more porn sites involved.
I think its been talked about before already too, but OnlyFans has been trying to get away from the porn rep they have had. And chose Moto as one of the ways to advertise and rebrand. I've seen some Youtubers that have had issues with Youtube and their type of content talking about doing onlyfans . And they were not porn .
I am amazed that moto has such a hard time on pulling in big non industry brands. Moto fans seem to love to support brands that help out moto teams. Look at how moto helped Monster grow. There are so many brands that could get great return on sponsoring some MX teams, riders ,or races . Its more than just throwing a logo on the bike. That's the easy part. The pit activation, adds with the team, rider or race in them. And making the fans aware of the involvement of the companies . But I guess even with how dedicated and loyal moto fans are , there are still so many fewer than some of the other motorsports or other places advertising money is spent.
You should go hit one or two F1 races and see what its all about, It can get expensive but it is worth the $$. I would love to go to the Las Vegas race but will sit that one out but maybe Miami and Texas race I will go to again for sure.
that's because corporations think our sport is full of Kyle's.
I would assume a major corporation would make decisions like this based on market research findings more than their marketing director’s personal love of F1.
My response was not an attack toward Lewis....just a general statement that we don't need that type of crap advertising. We have a negative enough perception by the general public already. Bottom line...there are little kids heavily involved in our sport.
Onlyfans may be trying to "clean up" it's image, but it's already associated with porn. Their money maker is women taking off their clothes.... It isn't going to change.
Karnow wasn't even hiding what it was all about....
