So I got an interesting call yesterday from my dealer. He said Ktm is not releasing a 250 sxf factory edition this year. Got me wondering cause I was about to place an order so I called Ktm North America and ask "Hey, wtf?" Tgey said "Nope, not happening this year." Kinda weird I thought, so if that's the case what is Tallon Vohland racing in Supercross.  Dont they have to release 400 units in order to compete?

That means Vohland has to ride a true 2023 chassis

The factory edition would be the same frame as the 2023 model anyway. Makes no difference as far as Vohland is concerned.

Don’t think this is true in the case of the 450. I believe, They made some small adjustments to the 450 FE frames. Would think those would carry over to the 250 as well.

I expected changes but saw nothing in the notes to suggest anything was changed on the 23.5 chassis. The fact that they aren't releasing the 250 makes me think there is no need, since there are no changes. So the guys can just run the standard '23 chassis. I could be wrong but that is what logic tells me.

They can weld more material to current 2023 frame even consumers get same frame as year before.

They may spread out the love now too. Gas Gas is getting a factory edition to put it in line with the current KTM/Husqvarna platform. So maybe instead of all the brands getting factory editions every year, they may go every other. Even if there was a FE this year for KTM, it wouldn't be too different as they would still be on the current platform.

I think KTM offered the 250 last year so they could get the guys on the new platform starting at A1 last year. Just like Gasgas this year. And there was no need to offer a KTM 250 this year because they can just run the standard 23, since I'm assuming it's the same frame. So if I had to guess, there will probably be no Gasgas 250 for 24.5.

The funny thing is what shootouts said about this 2023 Chassis . i looked at 2 US shootout 1 French and 1 italian one... it go from "more stable and little less agile in corner" to the exact contrary !! How is it possible ?

If the 22.5 FE Frames are the same for 250 & 450, could a 23.5 FE frame accept a 250 motor with no modifications?

If the new 450 FE frame changed and homologated, they could (in theory) run the new new and hopefully improved FE frame in the 250 class correct?

I remember reading that they used the same frame in 23 for 250, 350, and 450.

We should be testing the 23.5 KTM 450 FE in 1-2 weeks. The frame is the same as the 23 standard version, FYI..

Rodger... I guess it wasn't really clear if the current FE frame was different or not. Sounded like rumbles of yes but nothing I saw was a definitive yes or no (that I saw).

So whatever improvements they've made with the bike at the factory level are all just parts swapping/settings?

It's making more sense now. I guess I was just a little shocked since they've made both 250 and 450 FE since 16.5. And the year I wait to buy one they don't make it. Oh well. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, all the adult sized linkage bikes share the same frame, regardless of CC’s.

Rumor I’ve heard is the frame wasn’t exactly the issue with the team guys setups. How the engine sits in the frame might be something they figured out. Plus a fork offset change. I wonder if that’s true, and if the production bike would even see an update so soon in its life span. I have a new bike and I love the new chassis feel, but I’m no Cooper Web.🤷🏼‍♂️

Not true. 2023 SX & XC 125 use a different frame than the 250,300,350, 450.

Only because some have a kick stand mount, motor mounts are the same.

I'd don't believe that there's been an 250SXF FE version every year since 2016. I think its only been certain years.
