My wife and I are both Malcolm Stewart fans. When he went into the lead on Saturday, we both got so excited. He’s finally going to get the job done! Then he didn’t.
A-1 is traditionally an opportunity for different riders to win a race. The title favorites are working out bike issues. Nerves come into play for them, too. All that happened on Saturday night. Anderson was off the pace after his big crash. Eli had an unlikely crash. Sexton pumped up and slowed at the end of the race. Webb started the race buried in the pack. Even Barcia, who is the perennial A-1 favorite, launched himself off the track. I really feel like this was Malcolm’s big opportunity to finally seal the deal, but he wasn’t able to make it happen. With help from Aldon, I really thought this was going to be Malcolm’s year to notch that win. Unfortunately, I’m now thinking that ship may have sailed. I sure hope I’m wrong, because if he were to pull it off, it would almost certainly be the most popular race win of the year. What do you think?

I wanted him to win, but as soon as he got to the front you knew it would be tough.
He wont have a better opportunity than that, and i will say that after losing the lead, he came back hard and would have been right there wuth a shot with a nithing to lose last lap.. Tomac would not have risked anything to hold him off.
I really want to see him get one, and I think he has the speed/mindset to be in contention for podium positions throughout the year.
That said, I think getting a win will be difficult for him, but that statement is probably contingent on the health of a few other riders.
Many of us would like to see him get a win and he has 16 more chances to win one this year. (in SX)
He was close to getting one at A1. Has his shipped sailed? NO!
He can win more than one .

I'd like to see Mookie win for sure. But I'm not sure he can get it done. Other than Eli, I don't know if anyone else has the ability to make a mistake and still win... So many fast guys.
Don't know if he will win or not but he had the speed. Seemed like the pressure of leading was a bit too much understandably. As confident as he was about his riding in his statement it had to be a bike issue.
He hit neutral.
Do I want him to win - Yes!
Do I think he will win - no
Too many guys that are consistently fast. He had the lead and lost it before he crashed.
Mookie is such a great personality and cool kid.
He just does not have what James had. I don't see him winning one. Not to mention, he's king of the "wad up".
Flame suit on.
I think he can win for sure. Will he win?
But I want him to win for sure.
He had the 3rd fastest lap of the main. But 7 guys were within .39 of each other as the track was technical. May play out different on a "normal" dry track. But he has the speed to win. Just needs the belief in himself. On lap 18, not talking about belief when on the gate.
Fastest lap:
ET1 59.60
KR94 59.66
MS27 59.75
AP7 59.78
DF14 59.89
CW2 59.94
CS23 59.99
He’ll get a win, but it’ll have some drama in the front of the pack helping him out. As much as I like the guy, I don’t see him able to just run away from all the healthy competition on the line right now.
It would be cool if they got him a helmet and gear done up to look like the Predator.
There needs to be a containment pen for everyone making dogmatic statements about the season after watching A1, especially this year. NO MORE
Track was rutted up, Malcolm has a win in him.
You can't win the championship in the first race but you can lose it.
