Once Sexton got to the front that was oneiffy ride. Mistakes galore. All this talk about mental strength but once again he gets blown away by Tomac and then Webb and he folds like a house of cards
If Sexton doesnt get it done this year its gonna get tougher with Jetts rise he might not get that elusive 450 title
Ya know, I was thinking along the same lines. He hasn’t changed from last year. I was hoping this was going to be his year. Still am tbf.
Tell us how you really feel about Sexton?
Everyone made mistakes last night, including the guy who won.
Yeah he made some mistakes but pretty much every single rider in the top 10 did the same on this track.
Not to take anything away from Tomac's ride but he's the one who crashed and he got pretty damn lucky with that one. Do that crash 10 times and it ends much worse 9 times out of 10. Crash off the tunnel, bend a handlebar or break something and everybody would be in here talking how smart of a ride Sexton had to bring home a podium
Exactly. Tomac was lucky that Malcolm or Kenny did not nail him as it was very blind.
I thought Sexton had a mature ride on a track that was claiming people. He could have easily tried to twist it harder and taken 21st. He did mention in his interview with Blair that he pumped up pretty badly, and on that track with arm pump....yikes.
EDIT: I meant interview with Blair on the podium, not with Matthes.

It's freaking A1.... Cut the guy some slack....
Can you show me anyone in the 450 main that didn’t make any mistakes?
Track seemed challenging. It's A1, we have 16 more to go.
1 of 17….overreact much….
Oh well he still making like a million plus per year and ready to sign a new 3 year contract for like 2 or 3 million a year with other sponsorship money on top. Pretty sure he will be fine.
He said he jumped the quad to far into the corner and landed into a deep rut that knocked his bike into 3rd gear so when he came out of the corner he did not have the drive to hit the whole rhythm section.
Didn't Coop and Eli also crash? Seems like everyone had issues going fast on a nasty track. Sexton still finished on the podium. All in all, this is a non-issue in my opinion.
Chase's bike looks like a lot of work in the rough. He's making alllll sorts of adjustments. Eli in comparison looked like he's just cruising.
It will be interesting to see if we get a repeat of Webb where he switches teams and then starts winning titles even against riders who people think have superior talent levels.
Carmichael crashed his brains for his first two big bike SX championships and ended up winning 5 SX championships. Sexton is young!
He’s on the brink of greatness. He has all the parts needed, now it’s down to his attitude and luck. Looks to me like CS will get a couple years of titles while Jett figures out how to survive full seasons on 450s. Then we’re gonna get a few years of awesome battles between those two!
I’m a just nobody watching on TV, but I feel like CS needs to adjust his bike setup to be a little bit more forgiving in corner entrances because of how many times have we seen him push the front wheel and tip over. That’s his biggest weakness, IMO. And he has goofy sunglasses.
I bet if you ask Tomac who he's most worried about for the title, he'd say Sexton and Webb.
If only he listened to you, then he'd only have to worry about Webb.
Tomac himself has said Chase is THE next guy. But what does he know...
First race is always a competition against expectations.
Eli, Roczen, and Sexton expectations were very high. Sexton did fine.
Ferrandis, Nichols, and Webb were better than I expected.
I'm sorry but, comparing Chase to RC in any way except height, is being very generous.
Imagine if this message board were around in 2001 after the first few rounds.
Observation: A1
Conclusion: "Man, I thought RC would be able to take it to the King this year, but dude just can't keep up." lol
Pit Row
If anything I think Sexton showed he matured. Last year he would have twisted the throttle and broken his face. Sexton is the real deal, not sure if he wins or not but he is excellent just unfortunately for him Tomac is on a role.
sexton gonna sexton
He got very lucky he didn't blow his knee out
have noticed sexton is good at chasing but once he gets in the lead it's like he loses a bit of focus particularly if he's way out front.
That's why his name is Chase.
Outdoors I believe sexton is the guy but not sx in my opinion. He has a much harder time with the technical tracks. I am a fan and would love to see him get a title but he has some stuff to figure out.
Well this is what I meant.Sexton is supposed to improve after his battles with the amazing eli but instead he keeps finding new ways to fk up. I think he's destined to be the bridesmaid at this rate
And I'm a fan and was hoping for a title this year
Kenny is happy - Suzuki in front of Honda - Chase taken down a peg or 2
this is exactly the point. All that talk of hes the "next" guy but there is still far too many variables affecting chase
Looked like he whacked his head pretty good in that heat whoop crash. Glad he was unhurt overall. He has gotten better, but he does have the propensity to lawn dart himself too much in SX.
I am curious to see if a change of scenery (leaving Honda) will help him like it helped Eli.
Fact is that for ANYONE.....if they don't get it done this year (which is looking like its gonna take an Eli crash) then it's gonna be a race for 2nd for quite awhile with Jett "taking Eli's spot".
