0 people recognize them . Even in America no one cares about SX , MX. It is a spec on the world stage . When I met my wife and and all her friends no one knew it existed

Been watching SX from NZ since very late 90's.  Lucky enough to see in person RC and Bubba in 2003 at Vegas where James took a dirt sample.  Then a week later watched the MX at Glen Helen. 
Got pics with RC, Kdub, and Pastrana too.
Was awesome to chat to these guys, and see them race.

People here in Aus who ride a consistent basis/have raced before love it.

Also a lot of the MotoGP and F1 guys love SX I think because they know how gnarly you have to be to race at one of these events.

The time difference is a problem to see it live.

It's fun to watch because there's not much motorsport on TV outside of Dakar.

But as soon as the mx season starts again SX quickly becomes boring.

Find the outdoors 10x better anyway.
