Was just scrolling through DC’s “The Lives They Lived” on Racer X. It’s a feature of notables from around the industry who have passed during the year. About half way into it and OCScottie’s name popped up: https://racerxonline.com/2022/12/31/the-lives-they-lived-2022

Great read…but so many gone too soon.

I always appreciate the work that he puts into this yearly feature. I'm sure the families are very grateful for it.

I will second the sentiment above about the work DC puts into this every year. Such an incredibly respectful nod to all those involved in every area of the motorcycle industry from flaggers to scorers to everyone else in between.  It truly takes a village to make an event go.

Yes a great read and a great tribute to those we've lost.

Dwayne is mentioned too.

Scottie is probably the person I knew longest in this motocross industry, close to 23yrs..... from online, to eventually meeting in person a couple of times, he always helped me and played a big part in my 'Year in MX' too.

I feel privileged to have known him and I truly hope he is RIP.

Man I just read that whole article and we lost some good folks. I didn't know Brian Penick passed. My best friend and I drove 2 1/2 hours one way twice a week for I think decades to ride Dania and he was always really cool to us and we always got invited to the secret ride days. Then re reading Scotties good bye letter had me pretty choked up. RIP friends.

Very cool of Davey and the RacerX Crew to include Outta Control Scottie in their tribute.

Was a great read. Awesome to see DC throw some props to MikeeeP, too. If only he (and his mom and dad) could have seen that. I'm sure it made his day wherever he is. Shoot. I even got a mention (even though I'm still alive...). Thanks DC.

I've been a member here since 2010 or so and I couldn't even read the OC Scottie thread until this year and man it was a tough read.

That has to be the most hectic thread on vital.

I never knew Scottie personally, but he always seemed like a good guy and I enjoyed his contributions in the race day threads. I have a few friends that are in a similar situation to what he was in. It really makes you realize how our daily problems that we think are the end of the world, really aren't that bad in the grand scheme of it all. I respect the grit and fight some people in worse shape have and still fight every day to live with the cards they were dealt. I find that to be motivational and inspiring. I can only imagine the pain he endured. RIP OCScottie
