Definitely a 125 national I see Magoo Danny Turner back there Jeff Ward, probably Barnett ,

It's definitely a 1978 125 National MX. Can't name the track, but can ID several riders.

L-R : 336 Ward, 175 Moates, 24 Barnett, 37 Turner, 63 Magoo, 12 Mosier, 811 Masuda, 51 Myerscough, 71 Gregson, 15 Reid, 68 Jimmy Martin. I think that's Glover in between Turner and Magoo.

1978 125 National at Racing World (Escape Country, CA) . . . That grass track was only used for this one race.

529 is Pat Jacobson from Fife Washington . He starting racing MX at age 14 after BMX .He  was hired to be Suzuki’s Mark Barnetts team mate a year later in the middle of the season . He was paralyzed in the first turn of his first full ride as a factory racer .

Yep I remember reading about him in Cycle News when he got the Factory Ride and then the tragic day....

Escape Country Traubuco Canyon CA. 1978

I got to help pound track markers into the tall grass the days before the race..

That dirt was so perfect it would bring a tear to your eye.

It's now known as Coto De Caza, DeCoster owns a home there.

It is Chappy Blose.

And it was a SSM (Saddleback Saturday Motos) that were 40 min for Pros and 30 for non-pros.

Was it Jim Beltnick who ran this?
