We raced with him when ran 80's,and thought that he would be the one to have a career at the top level. He was a despicable person then. But he was fast. We went to races when he raced the big bikes, and his behavior was worse. This was just at local races before he went pro. The only thing he had going for him was that he was very fast on a bike. His problem is that he is a complete idiot. Being fast at his local level gave him perks that others wouldn't get like breaking the rules. He was the man is his own head,a legend in his own mind if you will. This thinking is what got him in trouble. He thought he could do no wrong. He had the brass ring given to him and screwed it up so bad. In the motocross world, with every opportunity given to him to succeed,he blew it ,figuring that he was fast and all the money and glory would come his way. He is talented in the arena of motocross, but can't tie his shoes in real life. If he couldn't keep it together before,he has no chance to keep together after. Before was easy.Sponsors, bikes, pit crews. That's not happening now unless he proves himself first. Total waste. He will never be back because it was easy for him to be fast then, he had the talent and the support. But now,he'll be lucky if he can actually support himself later on in his life. Just so stupid, fast as can be,next big champion, but it was supposed to happen for him. He didn't think he had to work for it. Others are coming up and will be a challenge for him. He is used to winning easy. No desire to work hard. We will never see him again at a national level. Too bad,but justified.
You forgot a bunch of, "In my opinion..." in your rant.

Jason might be a screw up and he might be a criminal.
But one thing that is for sure, he is a Motocrosser.
And with that said,he will be back!

He's got a year to think long and hard about his past actions....If he's smart he'll keep his mouth shut while is in the can and try not to become one of these:

JLaw is Done???

a bit obtuse are we?? i call it the best marketing ever......... the 6 months he does behind bars will only add "cred" to him when he gets out, only get him even more media achtung, and just add more to the "JLaw" legend....

Done.... LMAO..... yes, he may be getting all the media attention for all the "wrong" reasons, but that doesn't matter in this case..... if it were Andy Short going to jail, yes, his career would be over..... but in JLaws case, it does nothing but make him more "popular".....

No America only loves WINNERS.

Only if underdogs win are they loved - sorry!

Do you really want to wait until he bag snatches from a seventy year old woman before you admit this kid's got to get his shit together? Watching train wrecks ain't fun.

Is there an address where fans could write him? I mean, some support from true fans while in the can might help get him through this tough time. There are so many stories in America about people overcoming adversity and making something of them self, it would be great for Jason to do the same. I think it would be awesome, but very unrealistic, for Jason to stand on a podium, collecting a championship trophy a few years from now talking about how much he messed up and then changed for the better. I know...some people will say STFU newb, why would you want to write him, or the million other crude remarks from people that post crap about Jason who have their own personal demons and issues. This guy has messed up beyond belief and doesn’t deserve any sympathy…but I think he needs some friends and fan support now more than ever!

So, true, everyone knew everything back then, just didn't say it until it was blatantly obvious. So true man.

You're right, they do love winners!

But J-law has shown time and time again he can win in this sport. His talent hasn't been questioned.

I don't EVER remember posting ANYTHING about the kid having his shit together? Did I? Matter of fact I believe I said (in a later post in this thread) jail is probably the best thing for the kid right now, and not a bunch of free time in the off season.

Anyways, My point was that he is still young and has plenty of time to come back IF HE GETS HIS SHIT TOGETHER.

He is most certainly NOT DONE at this point, if he chooses not to be.

Do you not remember the interview he gave after his podium at Washougal? He pretty well said himself he's over it and doesn't really care about MX anymore. If he can admit it, why can't you?!

Don't you think he probably knew A LOT more about his future then we did at that point? Knowing you were going to be going to jail and having a lot of negativity surrounding you, brought on by yourself or not, will wear you down mentally. You really don't care about MX when you know your life is going to be behind bars for a while. Do you think maybe that reality was setting in and that was part of the reason for the interview? Maybe that was the reason he hasn't been racing, he was probably hitting rock bottom knowing he was going to jail, that would be crazy to think about. How about you go to work the next 2 months knowing that the day you're done at work you will be going to the pokey for a year... You're not going to be too motivated to get up and get moving, moreless train. It would send anybody into depression

Look, read what I said, the sport is not being taken away from him permanetely, people will still help, races will still be here when he gets out. J-law would be done if he was going away for 5-10 or life or if the sport was turning its back on him. he is going away for a few months, tops and our sport is like every other sport in that he will be welcomed back with open arms as long as he can perform. He will still be 22 when he gets out!

J-law is not done.... unless HE chooses to be, and I am willing to bet he isn't going to come out, after having hard time to reflect on his life wanting to give up this sport where he can potentially still earn millions. As much as a punk hard ass he is, I am sure this experience will surely humble him. He is a spoon fed 22 year old that has a few months to reflect on life and is learning the harsh realities of it.

I am not sticking up for him either I don;t know him, heck I am not even really fan of his antics, but I do know how society is and it has laways been a very forgiving one. So if he chooses to he can still earn a lot of money racing.

I'm sure there will be a long line of sponsors to help out a kid who made an ass of himself and the sport at every opportunity. Then when the day of reckoning comes and he learns he has to face the repercussions of his actions, he mails in his performances for the rest of the season and totals his motorhome.

Yeah that's the sign of a kid who's learned a lesson and needs a second chance.

But hey, there's always freestyle. Does that bad ass persona and lack of professionalism still sell over there?

Well, he could have tortured dogs, drowned them, electrocuted them, skipped out on bills or maybe raped a Miss America contestant and gone to prison for rape, or maybe got caught with a shitload of cocaine...

I mean should I go on to get my point across? The point is wether you like it or not, he can come out, ask for forgiveness say he is changed, go out and have some good results and be right back in the thick of things. That is how society works. He is young and has a lot of time in this sport left.

Once again, I am not sure if even I agree with it, but that is the way things are.

And why are freestylers getting thrown under the bus here? it is a whole other topic but those guys make more money, get more exposure and as of late been kicking the MX'ers asses in anything they do other than racing.....

Do we need another thread to shit on the guy who's now spending his second of many many nights in jail?

I don't think so
Too many of you are taking far too much pleasure in this crash and burn
