Sprinter van 170 or 144

Getting a new sprinter van dealer has both 170 and 144 the way I want it. Any experience on having trouble getting the 170 in and around a downtown area? Parking is the only thing I’m worried about. Any advice would be a help

I’ve got a 144 standard roof, not combated the length but height of the standard roof at 8ft is less than ideal. Not sure if you’re looking at standard or high roof but something to consider as well.

If it’s strictly a moto van go 170. For a daily I’d probably lean 144 because parking does get annoying, especially in the cargo version with no windows.

I have a 144 crew and my buddy has a 170 cargo. For simply a moto van or hauling stuff the 170 is legit. But like others have said parking can be a pain in the 170. I have no problem fitting 3 bikes, gear, and 3 dudes in my 144. In my buddies 170 we still only fit 3 bikes and all our gear, it’s just not quite as tightly packed. For camping and getting into and out of tight spaces trail riding, I prefer the length of the 144.

I agree with this. My everyday work vehicle is a 144 high roof cargo. I would also suggest getting the package that has all of the cameras. Maybe it is just me but the mirrors seem really small. The camera that show a view much like a drone hovering overhead makes backing out of tight spots so much easier.

I’ve got the 144 and it’s no worse than a pickup truck for getting into parking spaces and getting around town. I’d go 144 unless you absolutely need additional space.
