The Women are running two motos at Steel City; that changed the moto we realized there was mistake on the schedule. The quad race take places after the bikes are done, just like last year and the year before. We do it one time a year, at the last race of the year. The OEMs that make quads and sell quads appreciate it, and so do the riders and fans of that series.

The girls are not going away either.

DC is obviously looking to support all of MX and I think its pretty damn cool that he doesnt ignore the women.

The Woman's class is great racing. Instead of trying to include a two-stroke race or ATV's they should give the women their two motos.

Also, do you remember the Women's race at the X-Games last year? Very exciting.

Quads? I won't watch. It's a waste as far as I can see. I love watching Ashley and about 3 other top women race. One moto of these women would do me just fine. And cut out the site lap.I wanted to pull my hair out at Glen Helen. The mens sight lap is near the same speed as the WMA hot lap. (I know,they need to check out the track). I would like seeing the WMA do a moto in SX instead of the kids or the FMX guys though. That would be entertaining. Ashley has stepped it up. But yeah,for most of us we like seeing the top 3 girls or so and then become bored with the rest.JMO.

I agree with Matthes observation. A stage is being provided for the women’s class that wouldn't be there if they were not included in the men's series.

Nothing against the women’s series but Matthes is dead on and that's a reality.

I'm sure the girls are more than appreciative of what MX Sports has done for their series.

I usually agree with your "observations" but this one, not so much. Why bother including the WMA at all if you aren't going to do it right? If the idea is to make it a more professional series, how do you make up the rules as you go along? This isn't X Games step-up. Smile

DC has already cleared up the matter by saying that there will be 2 motos. Guess that's the end of that. But to say that the girls should NEVER complain, no matter what, is lame.

Thank you for clarifying. I was just posting this thread to get my voice out, as well as a few riders who were standing behind me. I appologize if I came off as rude, and after looking at the big picture, MX Sports has really helped the WMA instead of harming.

Hearing it was only 2 motos was a bummer because my dad did not want to make the 10 hour drive just for 20 minutes of riding. Thank you for the clarification and correction!

As a fan watching I love seeing the WMX race. I went to Red Bud and was disappointed that I didn't get to see them race (although it was nice seeing RC and the boys rat racing on superior bike technology). You can keep the quads, absolutely no interest in seeing them.

If the elusive TV deal doesnt come off then go back to a two day format maybe. Girls can get their longer motos, familys can make a holiday out of it, and the guys dont have to be squinting at shadows in the last motos of the day.

All joking aside it has been proven time and time again no one really wants to watch women sports, minus stuff in the olympics. Look at womens golf ratings vs. men. Look at WNBA vs. NBA. Every year they don't know if the WNBA will have enough money to run the entire season. Also have you ever seen how many people are in the stands, pitifal. I am sorry, I am a hard core moto head but it doesn't really interest me at all.

I know a lot of people who like watching the women race. It was far and away the best race at the X Games, and we've had some great ones this summer between Ashley and Jessica. I know the old-timers would prefer to see Aberg and Jonsson battling instead of the girls, but I don't think Bengt and Ake would be available to race here next summer.

The WMX is here to stay in the series, and so is the one-day Saturday format. It allowed for the huge upgrade in the TV package, the riders and teams love it, and it would be tough to have practice on a Friday when most people are at work (not only the spectators, but the flaggers, course marshals, volunteers, concession stands, etc.)

If you don't like watching the girls race, just don't watch. Go get a snack or check out the pits or the sponsors village... We hope everyone will warm up to the girls racing, but if they don't, we hope they enjoy the other things we have to offer.

I'm glad the WMA is getting the exposure with the nationals, and I hat quads with a passion, but anyone who thinks pro quads are boring, has not been to a pro quads race. I would be willing to be that the quads are night and day faster and more exciting than the women

Oh trust me I look at the WMA as the marching band for the half time show. I have to agree with slowold guy, quads are night and day faster then the girls.
