Check this out.......what do you guys think of this season wrap-up blog by the main TV personality/announcer in Canadian MX?? If I was his boss I'd have his head in a basket by now!!

For those that don't know, the Canadian sanctioning body (CMRC) owns MXP mag and its website. After too many years of no live anything available, MXforum decided to do a live webcast on their own with their own $$ to keep Canadian fans updated live at each national this summer. Kinda like David Bulmer's "a year in mx", but our guy "bigwave" drove across the country and basically lived in a '84 Buick Electra woody station wagon (nicknamed Carmen) and did a live webcast at each race. He also posted a full photo report and race results after each raceday on MXforum as well.
Here is his ride.....look for him at the last few US nationals!!! Stop & say hi, Billy is a great guy that loves moto. Look for the MXforum logo on the hood!!

Anyways....please discuss. I'd like to know what you guys would do with someone that basically pours crap all over a great season, even though his job depends on the very people that he is slamming in that blog entry. I'm sure all the series sponsors are real happy with his comments after they've spent tons of dough to put on a professional effort and bring in riders from the US, SA and Europe to compete in our National MX Championship. Our series is still (and always will be) a lot smaller compared to the US series, so we really don't need this kind of stuff to tarnish a great season for all the outside sponsors that have started to support Canadian MX the last few seasons
Here is what us Canadians have to say about it. Please excuse the language.......the guys that own MXforum put out over $20,000 of their own personal $$$ to make this happen, plus a few sponsors and people also supported this (ad)venture. Then Gauldy & MXP take all the credit, claim to have paid all the bills, and then he says it wasn't good enough for their series!! NOBODY is very happy about it!!

like justpinit said, myself and my partner put a ton into the whole thing to bring live audio to the cmrc nats. the families of the riders both from our country and afar really appreciated it, so did the fans. once again the cmrc empire takes the good of the sport and shits all over it.
after cmrc gave all the mag coverage rights to a shithole magazine that cmrc bought into at the end of 07 (the very thing that killed racerxcanada and the spirits of great people involved in it), it killed me to have to at all involve the pink palace with that rag but we had to for the people. i tried to back gauldy and that shitty rag thinking that they were the here and now....and took a ton of shit for doing it, only to get backstabbed and taken advantage of like everybody that has ever involved themselves with anything "stallybrass" before.
but personally i don't care. i did it for the people and for fun. i feel bad for bigwave billy. he was the guy that drove the car across our huge nation to cover the deal.....and now his journey is tainted.....and he won't have many opportunities next season i would imagine. he was hoping to turn this into something.
people are fucked!!
it blows!
Can we change it?
Something like "Denny Stephenson shits all over Canadian mx" would be better...
MXP Live Audio Webcast
This was another great addition to the nationals this year. It was weird how it was going to get going this year. The sneaky pink figured they could handle it and get the job done but their resources didn’t allow them to make it happen. So MXP, with the go ahead of Mark Stallybrass, stepped in to make it happen and give an unpaid Billy “Bigwave” Rainford something to do since he made his way out to Kamloops for the first round. For some reason there were people wondering why MXP had control over it. Well the simple answer is - WE PAID FOR IT! Billy along with Andrew McEwan did a great job with little to no experience calling races or being exciting on a microphone. I’m sure it will be back next year, but it will be handled by the proper outlets ensuring professionalism and garnering sponsorship from the right avenues.
Sneaky pink is in reference to mxforum.com who essentially envisioned and launched the entire project. When their man on the ground (Bigwave Rilly Rainford) arrived at the first round to provide free audio coverage of the Nationals, something Canadian fans had been screaming for in previous years he was placed in a situation by the series promoter that left him no choice but to partner up. Now Gauld is taking credit ofr the entire operation and denigrating the sponsors who stuck in significant cash and effort to make this thing fly.
Pit Row
The only way that live broadcast ever got on the air was because of MXP, Stally, the CMRC, and especially Billy!!! It's hard not to like the guy! After all the trash talk which has been directed at the CMRC, Stally, and MXP over the years by Hammer and a few dinks on MXFORUM, I would have given mx forum the big F you!!! But, they instead let Billy go ahead, mainly because he is a pretty good guy. Hell they even helped him get it going! Some of the employees of the CMRC even gave Bigwave a place to stay some nights, instead of sleeping in his car. Has Hammer ever apologized, or even thanked MXP, or anyone else for that matter? NO! There is some behind the scenes BS which a lot of people no nothing of, and MX forum is hiding, and lying about. Before passing judgement on Ryan Gauld just remember one thing..... There is 3 sides to every story. This side, that side, and right down the middle is the truth. Hopefully we hear more side than just the one. Hammer, last night you said I was "owned"... HA! not me, and definately not by you, or mxforum.
S
enjoy the lonely nights killer...you earned them!
bummer all around hammertime...you guys are good dudes
I don`t like it when anyone, especially the fans, or the ``message board yahoos`` as he has called us in the past, are all lumped together as a bunch of, quote: `` nerds, posers and black cloud clowns`` He was part of an old school exhibition race bbq at Kamloops, and I had the pleasure of eating burgers that he cooked at his pits afterwards while we sat around and had a few beers and talked moto. I thought he was a great guy, so I bought a sub to the mag and MXP t-shirts & hats for me and my kids. He even went out of his way and hooked me up with free weekend passes for the 3 of us that went to Edmonton. I don`t know what to think of him now......definitely NOT a good way to end off the season. Ruined the whole thing for me. I was actually planning to go to a few of the eastern rounds next year while the kids are on holidays. Probably head south to Washougal or Lakewood instead.
I also don`t like it when someone rides on someone else`s coat tails and claims it to be his own.
``So MXP, with the go ahead of Mark Stallybrass, stepped in to make it happen and give an unpaid Billy “Bigwave” Rainford something to do since he made his way out to Kamloops for the first round. Bullshit!! Billy did not go out to Kamloops to do 1 round and hope he had something to do the rest of the series!! I didn`t hear a single thing about Gauldy, MXP or the CMRC having ANYTHING to do with this until midway through the season!! I was at the Kamloops and Edmonton rounds and never heard anything about MXP having anything to do with it. Then they jumped on his coat tails when it was actually turning out to be pretty cool and decided it was all their idea!! Fucking unreal!!
I believe the idea was actually conceived during the winter when bigwave tried out his plan at a few British Columbia arenacrosses and it was fairly sucessful. They set up in the beer garden, got booted from there for having a little TOO much fun while doing the first webcast, and went from there.
There....rant over. And I`ll repeat: Ryan Gauld shit all over Canadian MX when he tried to claim the live webcast as his own and repeatedly called us moto-board guys a bunch of nerds and posers!! We are the real people that pay a ton of cash just to be there to enjoy some racing and support his cool job. Without us, he is just some guy in a dusty field with a mike in his hand. This is not coming from a series sponsor, not from a magazine or message board owner, and not from some industry insider. Just a die-hard fan that is left with the taste of shit in my mouth after reading that crap in his blog the other day!!
And I really feel bad for Billy......he did a great job, had an awesome summer, and now he will be lucky if he is even allowed in the gates as a spectator next year. Kinda sad, really.
