awesome. I was about to say no rear brakes? Oil.... but then again....you can't exactly use the rear brake with your foot out like that! I remember seeing Emig loop out once....always funny to watch. That one looked like a hard fall though!

Yea I was looking for the rear brake attempt myself. Unless those factory bikes have a trick handlebar version I don't thing that was the culprit.

Even my wife laughed when she saw him do that. I felt bad for him though, that shit happened to me once in a field on a cold morning,

Did it knock you silly? I was riding a wheelie and just happened to cross an old practice start rut which pulled my bike off to the side and I highsided so hard I was out cold and had short term memory loss.
This was in '98 on an RM125.

Didn't Andre Malherbe loop out at the top of a big hill back in about 85? I think Magoo was in the race.

I used to let people ride my RM400, darn near everyone of them looped it. The only time I did was while showing off to my girlfriend- thankfully I was only going about 25 mph, and not WFO in 5th. It was quite embarrassing; I couldn't convince her that I'd just gotten off the bike in a different way than normal.

The broken oil line was spraying oil all over his boots and his right foot slipped off, thats why he didnt hit the back brake. And yes, after watching it on tv today, hes incredibly embarassed Laughing

Yep, I was told that after contact with Matt Goerke, the header was bent in, which caused it to contact and melt the oil line that runs to the remote reservoir. I was told the leaking oil was getting on the rear brake, but after watching that, his foot slipping off the peg sounds like a more plausible reason.

Jake was hauling ass up until that point.

LOL... I was standing next to the fence at the bottom of that hill when he looped out. Me and another guy was commenting on his bike smoking and then he just flipped over.

Well, Tell jake that we were cheering him on every lap. I felt bad for him because he was flying up to that point.

It's gotta be just a little bit stressful goin that fast on a bike with it smoking like that.
All I would be thinking is which face is this thing gonna lock up on and send me packing like James Stewart at Southwick 06!!!

That said he looked very comfortable on that Kawi.

My most embarrassing moment: when my bike died out and I thought I had toasted the top end. My buddies asked me about 5 times if I put gas in it, and I assured them that I did...

Well you can probably figure out the rest. You don't know how many times I hear "is there gas in it" from my bud now.

oh I'm sure no one cares and this is totally irrelevant blah blah blah. just thought I'd share
