Kx 450 head bolt question

I’m doing a top end rebuild on my kx 450 for the first time. The service manual says to apply a molybdenum disulfide oil solution to the head bolt threads and washers. It explains this is a mixture of engine oil and moly grease at a weight ratio of 10:1. Will I be ok just using engine oil? If not, what moly grease should I get? Seems to be a few different options. Also, should I gradually work my way to 44 ft lbs? manual doesn’t specify. I know some other brands have a more detailed torque procedure. Any advice would be appreciated!

Any engine oil will work. Yes the head should be torqued in the specified pattern and in at least 3 stages. I.E. 15, 35, 44ft/lbs.

I would suggest doing it the way they want you to with new washers. Kx450s are notorious for blowing head gaskets. Changing the thread lube will change the clamping force.

That is strange but if they spec it, then that's ok. 44ft*lbs spec'd with moly is some serious torque. If that were dry it would be high.
