Vans, Converse and Puma are my main kicks. I’m just glad I’ll never again have to lay awake sweating bullets as a 10 year old after hearing Dad tell Mom: “Tomorrow I’ll take the boy to K-Mart to get some shoes for when school starts next week”:

I'm not going to lie, I kinda dig the rusty brown ones

Nah, man, the only good thing coming outta Kmart when I was 10 years old was the Swiss Steak Dinner smothered in grilled onions and no-name ketchup with the side of box potatoes.

My grandmother shopped at Kmart quite a bit. I remember those.

Sketchers are hands down the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Only problem is the soles...when it rains, it's like trying to walk on ice on Japanese sidewalks, so I stopped buying them a few years ago. Since then, I've been wearing Adidas Stan Smiths pretty much every day I don't wear sandals.
I have a pair of Sketchers I bought for fishing. I needed a comfortable shoe for standing on rocks for several hours. They’re very comfortable. Unfortunately, I ate shit after a boat passed by and, got most of the rocks wet. They are NOT slip resistant. If you stand on anything that’s wet, you’re swinging your arms and, rolling two car windows down at the same time. Now, I just use them for cutting the grass and, doing yard work.

IMG 5660 0.jpeg?VersionId=1bIw2xE2T0zsWLo DooIUXLyfBy1wmI walked into Parrot Surf & Skate early in 2020 to buy the Vans on the left. We laughed  about a new virus named Corona or some sh*t like that everyone was chattering about. What will the new pair of Vans see for the next 3 years?

When you are standing in water 8 to 10 hours a day in 90 degree weather and have millions of baitfish scales pouring down your legs at 5 am nothing beats a pair of crocs except maybe barefoot but too many screws and plates in the feet so needed that little cushion. Or when the farm boots come off at the door its socks and crocs.

Nice thread and some really sweet shoes in here. Consider yourselves lucky to live in a 1st world country.

The last time I bought shoes was from a Nike outlet store near Temecula (2019)

My best pair are the Nikes in the left of the pic, brought home from the USA.

Here in SA you either have to be wealthy or be prepared to open an account and pay a pair of shoes off over 6 months.

That's it for me....

Ps. Anyone here wear size 10's. Next time you plan on throwing used pairs out, give me first choice. I'll pay for shipping to SA. Laughing

What type of shoe are they?

As in, intended use / benefits.

Have to say, maybe your Beagles are interested in them because the look like the type of booties that people put on their Pups. And they are thinking, "not on me you don't"

Me and shoes - I get around mostly in what would be termed Hiking Sandals. Things like Tevas etc. But Not ones that have my toes dangling out.

Sketcher Sandals and Thongs (Flip Flops to you Yanks) have found their way into my heart, in recent years. Such Squishy, Comfy soles, but as Sully  wrote, some of their soles don't play well with water.

Rarely though do I wear full shoes and even then, it's inevitably one of my many Five Ten MTB non clip type ones. Or, my many old pairs of Vans.

In other peoples Workshops, I'll wear proper safety boots, but, if you walk into my workshop, unless I'm doing machining on steel, or especially stainless steel, when I wear Safety Boots, I'll be in my daggy old Flip Flops. Yes, I'm an bloody Idiot.

I was going to dig up the old shoe thread we had but it was pretty old. Curious what some of your current favorite shoes are. What are you finding most comfortable. Or what’s a pair you just like.

Looking back at the old thread I was wearing only New Balance. The last two years I switched to ASICS and have a ton of ASICS shoes.

I think they are pretty comfortable overall.

Recently, I tried a pair of HOKA’s and I must say probably the most comfortable shoe I’ve worn. I’ve noticed more people wearing them.

Of course one pair isn’t enough…!!

I also like the Cloudflyer brand. I don’t have a pair yet but I like the style and how you mostly just slip them on.

But, for sure if you are on your feet a lot give the Hokas a try. Very comfy…..

I love Hoka shoes, but haven't found many that I liked the look of, but ended up with these

HokaSolomon speedcross 5's are also one of my favorites for trail running

Talking about shoes like a bunch of chicks here. This thread pops up at an opportune time though as I need a new pair. Had worn Alpinestar Classics for years, super comfortable and wore like iron, tried a set of Meta roads, blew the toe box out, and a set of Meta trails (which, if they'd held up were about my favorites, ever), blew that toe box out in a matter of weeks, A-Stars replaced them under warranty with roads as trails were unobtanium at that point and now, here we are with holes in the sides of some mighty spendy shoes.

Anyway, looking around and there may be a pair or two in this thread, anyone try this Lem's shoes? Kinda don't hate the looks of the Primal Pursuit.

Around here they are used mostly for fishing.  I wear them when I want to keep water and sand off my feet.  And when I take the beagles to the dog park. That’s some nasty sand at that place.

I was a brooks fan but switched to hoka in the last couple years. I recommend either. Really good sale going on with brooks shoes right now if anyone’s looking. The wife and I just got 3 pairs. Of course she got 2 pairs.

I’ve got a pair of Lems boulders and they’re great. You will like them.

I wear my shoes out. They start out as Reebok, but when I'm done with them, they're just ok.
