Echo also tends to water heavily so you get deep ruts as the track breaks in.

Showing my age a bit here but I remember when West Ky was referred to as Lowes.. Also the real OG's will remember Triple Nickel 555. That place was fucking mint. The Little Sturgis Motoplex, 800mx.. R.I.P.

The locals still call it lowes lol. One look at a moto track registry will show a vivid past of moto here. What happened? Everyone got old? It seems like when guys hit a certain age they just get tired of the work but don’t want to sell their property.

I go to NCMP a lot. Been wanting to go to Morgan’s Corner for a while, it hard though when I have WCMX 10 minutes from my house and Jammin Jimmies 20 minutes away. NCMP is probably my favorite track.
I’m taking a moto trip out that way next. So many amazing tracks. Cool thing about sandy soils is that when you fall you’re exponentially less likely to get hurt. I have taken some slams living in Florida that would have totally broken bones if I had done the same in KY.

I hit NCMP 1 weekend a month. Lucky you live so close to those tracks! I’m 2 hrs 40 min from NCMP. About 45 minutes from Morgan’s and ECMX, and 1 hr and 20 from SFMX. I’ll have to let you know when I hit NCMP again, but I frequent Morgan’s these days. Let me know if you ever come to Morgan’s!

True shit. I’ve taken some HARD slams in the sand and get right back up easily. I’ve talked way softer slams on hard pack and it HURTS.

Back around 05-09' we had some badass tracks. Triple nickel was sick but id have to say my 2 favorites were Balance in Bowling Green and Podium 1. Balance was the closest thing to a national caliber facility that kentucky will ever see.

I lived in Lexington for awhile and there wasnt much to ride near there. East fork in Ohio and tri state mx were about the only places i found worth going to around there and they were about 2 hours away

Ballance was great and always brought a lot of competition. Podium was also very good. I guess I always considered that indiana since they always put on the Mammoth East race in Paoli. Great memories

I know man, its seriously dissapointing. It is odd too bc in the 4 years I have been here I have met numerous people in the area randomly that ride moto and there are always bikes for sale on FB marketplace around here.

I'm convinced it's mostly private track ownership and use and you just kind of have to meet the right people at the right time. I'm working on getting something going myself because of the aforementioned situation, so I'm assuming many others have similar approaches.

There's a super nice private track in Franklin/Brentwood area I know of. I follow the dude on IG but I am too afraid to ask him when/if he ever has people out to ride. Always hard to break the ice like that lol. I want to say like I am a vet A rider (aka I'm not going to come out and wad myself and sue or get in the way lol) but never know how to approach it.
@mx965 ya they have a group chat and its a tight group of friends that ride out there. Nashville area has about 5-7 private tracks that are pretty cool. but ya unfortunately just gotta network and hope you meet the right people. Moving here from Northern California has been tough. Love the area but miss having tracks to ride. Im friends with all the track owners around here so hoping to eventually we can get enough people to convince them to open during the week. Right now we only have r3 but hopefully soon have indian mound and fast farms too

Moto? Good luck! Off-road/harescrambles? A lot more options- but you will get proficient in rocks and roots!
