Why is that so hard for so many to see or admit? I would say the same is true of Tomac right now when compared to Chase. I think Eli was tired the second moto at Budds.

Chase seems like he is still strong and Eli is just not the guy he was earlier in the year in the second moto. Long season. Age will do that. You can't go full out when you are tired.

Moto 1 he was 3rd after lap 1.
Moto 2 he was 9th after lap 1.

True, he even admitted he didn't make early passes. And then just rode around behind Dungey and KR. There was not even a real attempt to pass Dungey. Seems to me it was the tire or he was tired.

Is Eli Tomac, in the most important moto of the year for him not capable to come from 9th after lap one to maybe 2nd by the end of the race? He has done it there before in prior years.

Of course, only Eli knows the truth. Just commenting on what I saw.

imo Kenny doesn't have the ability to push that extra 5% any more. When I say extra 5% I mean that little extra effort where you may have to ride a bit out of your comfort zone and really dig deep. We see chase and Eli do it when they are battling.

I don't know the reason for this? Maybe PTSD from his arm injury? Maybe physically he can't do it? Maybe bike set up?

I might be the minority, but I'm still a believer in Kenny. I think he still has what it takes to win, even after his gnarly injuries. I do think he's a very mental rider though who's affected by mental blocks. Meaning, until he feels like everything is clicking perfectly with his bike setup he won't be able to unlock his full potential. I still think there's a chance he finds that perfect bike setup and then we'll see 100% of what he's still got.

This sport is so mental and we all blame the bike. Now at their level, the ante is way up as they are scratching for 1/10 of a second. So i can only suppose the bike blaming is times 10 for them as well

Unreal to me how these idiot "fans" tell a guy who still wins races and battled for both championships last year that he should retire. It's mindblowing what people write when they sit behind their PC and have the anonymity.

Lots of good observations, but the one thing I don't get is how he consistently fades until Dungey catches him, then just pins it. Almost like the idea of Dunge passing him is so humiliating that it's the one scenario where he'll push over the line of comfort, but with everyone else he seems to kind of deflate and give up...

Maybe he'd be better off doing some serious sports psychology sessions than continually testing and going in circles...

Could be wrists and arm strength that gives him problems, he had compartment syndrome and severe trauma to his arms.

When KR94 retires, most of you complainers will realize the rider you have been complaining about was 1 of the best our sport has seen. Sadly, due to injury his potential and title were cut short.

It's doubtful 99% on this board would be riding after his Arm injuries, let alone racing SX and Nat's and competing for titles.

I would assume the arm injuries have severely limited his strength, stamina, and ability to hold on to the bike deep into the moto's. Appreciate 94, he will be gone soon.
