Any thoughts on Beta X (cross) trainer 2T for trail & play riding?

Have you checked with any authorized dealers near you from list on Beta website? I ended up buying mine (2022) earlier than I really wanted to (Jan) because of sketchy information. This thread was a big help when I was figuring everything out and I was hoping to order a '22, but the best dealer I found told me Beta wasn't even taking and fulfilling customer special orders like they used to. I asked about when Beta usually stopped taking orders for any model year (heard it was usually February cut off) but I was told they were just shipping a few here and there when they felt like it and based on shop's prior sales history. This shop was getting a handful of mostly 300RR 2T and then all 4T stuff. I asked about ordering X-Trainer and they told me they would only see 1 every few months and couldn't order and guarantee it would ever get built and delivered.

However they happened to have 1 just coming out of the crate that would be available, LOL! Hadn't seen 1 for at least 3 months before that. I figured he was BSing me to get a sale, so told him to call me back when it was ready to sell and I would come check it out. I went and test rode it and asked about OTD price and chances of ordering again and left to think about it. Kept in touch with the guy every 2 weeks and figured out a way to pay for it- and then Russia started a war and all bets were off on getting any more, so I decided to grab it while I could. Think I made the right call on that as I only paid MSRP for it and no BS and it has been a great bike for me

Were they specifically 2022 MY 300 X-Trainers? There were a bunch of changes made for 2022 for reliability and smooth out the motor. Mine has been solid with nothing more than routine maintenance and care. The craftsmanship is top notch IMO and it gets lots of compliments. Now I'm not riding it super hard at my age and injury history, but I do notice the suspension is not really something an Expert or younger Vet could pound on and expect it to perform like a real CC or SX bike, but that's what the RR versions are for It's been everything I was looking for upgrading from my 2003 KDX220.

Actually. I was shocked to find out I CAN plate my 300 just as it sits in CO- with exception of I need to add a mirror We don't require blinkers here but it already comes stock with all wiring and switches. That stock front plate with light is wired with high & low beam, horn is on there and works, brake light switches built into front and rear master cylinders, etc. Even has DOT approved tires. I DO have to change the registration though to say Onroad & Offroad. Local Motor Vehicles quoted me $21.00 I think. I'm going to wear out the original Shinkos on there and get some better dual sport tread tires before I go change the registration.

if you're talking about the X-Trainer, only the 300 is imported to USA. I originally was interested in a 250, but had to "settle" for the 300 lol

They didn't even mention the "fun" button that switches between 2 ignition maps- 1 for more top end power and 1 for more low end. My bike was set up all wrong initially, felt twitchy and rear end would kick out for no reason. It came with 40 PSI in both tires and I had to set sag and rebound in rear shock and crank up the preload and rebound in front forks. Also the handle bar clamps have 3 positions and it comes set in middle and I had to move it back. After correcting all that and adding better grips it feels totally dialed in for my style and needs and huge upgrade over my old KDX.
